Hollie Strano: Preseason Accuracy
August 8, 2008NCAA: OSU/Illinois “Not Compromised”
August 8, 2008Like the rest of the known universe, I am completely sick of hearing about a certain former Packer QB. The mere thought of him makes me want to vomit. This morning I jumped over to the AFC North section of ESPN blogs, hoping to see a recap of last night’s action. Of the 15 stories on the front page, NINE of them were about said player! NINE! He doesn’t even play in that division!!!
The blogging world, which claims to be tired of it as well, is not much better. Check out the blog ranking page on BallHype. Pay attention to the ‘top tag’ column. That would be the key words most often used during a given time period. Screen grab after the jump…
AAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Now before anyone accuses us of doing the same…there is no mention of the QB’s name, and no tags to search.

somewhere, John Madden is jiggling his jowels in glee.
It was great to see him in the third and fourth quarters coaching up his new teammates, listening to the play calls on the headset, and getting to know his…what?? He wasn’t there in the second half? Whaa? You mean he was up in a luxury box yapping it up with the GM? That’s, that’s just so…like him.
Just got back from lunch at a local Irish Bar/Grille….
I order the Reuban of course. While eating, I look up at the TV and ESPN is on. (Oh, great!) The same, “world famous QB now in NY”, is on and off of the screen the entire time. Didn’t he sign the new contract 2 days ago? Why is this not going away?!
Somewhere in between what seems like non stop coverage, ESPN decides to cover the other sports going on in the world. They cut to show the Mets/Padres highlights…. or so I thought! Instead of actually talking about the game or showing highlights, the first thing shown is a camera fixated on all the different fans at Shea Stadium wearing their “F*v** Jets” jerseys! Ahhh the torture! I think I almost spit up bits of sauerkraut and 1,000 Island dressing everywhere!
When will the madness stop!?
You know its too much when sportscenter is an hour long, and brett favre takes up 40 minutes of it. Who cares what his reaction is. Who cares what Anybody thinks anymore. It’s over. They televised the Manny Ramirez/Jason Bay trade for ONE DAY. This has become quite ridiculous.
You think you are sick of it? I’m a Viking fan from Minnesota, so it is on every local news station, in every news paper and every local anything. I’m surprized they haven’t put it on the free way traffic info screens! I get it… Greatest QB… Boyish Enthusiasm…Blah Blah Blah. I was sick of hearing about him years ago and just when I think he might fade away, BAM! Madden Cover. BAM! Reinstatement. BAM! NY savior. At least his fiasco the past few days in GB is tarnishing how many feel about him. Get ready for the AFC East DB’s to have career #’s in INT’s.
How do you really feel? 🙂
If I was the Packers I would have let him sit and rot on the bench since it’s his yearly ritual to retire and unretire or not make up his mind until a week before camp, hasn’t that happened for the last 3 or 4 years now, get over yourself. I think letting him rot on the bench would have been awsome. Thats how I really feel!
Fumbling a snap and running a penalty lap is now apparently a top headline:

Shows how important the olympics and baseball are…
