Wimbley Will Be Key To Browns Defense In 2008
August 21, 2008Lee, Sizemore Finish Off Kansas City
August 22, 2008Donte Stallworth wanted to make a big impression on Browns fans when he got here, I’m sure. You get the idea, though, that slicing the foot of the Browns’ Pro Bowl WR and fan favorite Braylon Edwards wasn’t quite what he had in mind. Now, to be fair to Donte, it was Braylon who was running around without his shoes on, and this was obviously an accident, so I hold no ill will towards Donte over the incident, it was just one of those things.
It was funny, though, to read Donte’s reaction to a question about it from ESPN.com’s James Walker for the AFC North Blog. In a “5 Questions” segment, Donte’s answers were jovial and easy going….until the last question was asked,
“5. Is your friend and teammate Braylon Edwards plotting some sort of revenge after gashing his foot a couple weeks ago?
DS: Nah [laughs]. He’s just working to get back. He will be fine. He’s taking care of his foot, and he will be ready soon.”
In other words, “I don’t really want to talk about it.” We kid because we care, Donte. In all seriousness, it’s good to see that Donte is able to joke around about it and that the situation doesn’t sound too serious. Now, maybe this will all change if Braylon ends up missing the Dallas game, but for now, we’ll give all parties involved a pass this one time.
The rest of the 5 Questions segment is moderately interesting, and if you feel like checking out the first 4 questions, you can do so by heading over to ESPN’s AFC North Blog or by clicking here.

I don’t really see a change in mood from questions 1-4 to question 5…what stands out to me is his explanation of the Super Bowl running through Cleveland comment. Part of me would have liked him to say he meant it, though most of me is actually glad — we don’t need someone guaranteeing a Super Bowl before the season’s started (and things are looking precarious before the season’s start).
Maybe he would have said he meant it prior to the Giants game. Now? Not so much.
Catching balls on third and long is a start as well…
i’d like to suggest that either Donte or J-Cribbs cut their hair or change their number.
Two 6’3″ guys with dreadlocks and wearing #s 16 and 18? Without a 52″ HDTV I can’t tell them apart.
Should be a nice preseason game coming up against Detroit on Saturday. 6 starters sitting out. Nice!
Hey I kid because I don’t care. Nice Chris Myers reference.
