July 5, 2008Cliff Lee: Your AL All-Star Starting Pitcher
July 6, 2008Twins 9, Indians 6 (box)
While Aaron Laffey was far from stellar, Tom Mastny was far from a big league pitcher. Entering the sixth inning with the lead, Mastny allowed four runs (all earned) while retiring only one batter in the process. That’s really all you need to know about this one, as it led to what would be a five-run inning and a loss – the Tribe’s seventh straight.
Grady Sizemore knocked out the tough part of the cycle with a home run and a triple, resulting in a three RBI day. He’s now one stolen base shy of the 100/100 club, and will get his shot today against lefty Glen Perkins. I’m just hoping for a win at this point. C’mon, Cliff…

This is starting to sound like a broken record.
Is there a level below embarrassing?
Bullpen as a collective unit has an ERA over 5.00… Not sure how you can win games, ever, with that figure…
Bullpens are risky business every year but this has to be on of the worst ever. Problem is Shapiro does not built his bullpen from closer out. He builds them from mediocre starter to mop up guy to former failed no fastball closer. Get a dominate closer and work your way back and slot the pen with power arms.
