Tribe Bullpen: Cooked Well Dunn…Again
May 17, 2008Initial Thoughts: Mike Brown
May 18, 2008Via NBA TV, here’s the recap from LeBron James’ Game 6…

Now given that, and while attempting to absorb the countless opinions that have graced print, television and radio, here are a few points that I think will be huge in today’s game…
– Mike Brown will have to post James up early. If he starts the running layups, he’s going to get charges called. Count on it.
– If he’s not going to post up James, the pick and roll with Ilgauskas is a must.
– We need the Joe Smith of “home” to show up on the road
– Either Wally and/or Sasha just have to hit at least 45 percent of their shots. If they combine like they did on Friday, it’s going to be tough.
– If they’re struggling, why not give Devin Brown a shot? He can slash with the best of ’em…
– Delonte West needs to give Rondo space. If he doesn’t, he’s toast. I’d rather see 25-footers than un-contested layups after he’s burnt at the top of the key.
We don’t need a “48 special” today; and while it would be nice, we simply need to stay on our toes defensively, and play as a team. We can do it. We haven’t done it there just yet, but it can be done. As Rick mentioned here, there will likely be ref-bashing for the forseeable future. We can’t let that get in our way. The game has to be played – all 48 minutes. No runs. No sloppy passes. No dribbling the clock down to 10 seconds before running a play. Played.
What do you guys think? Am I missing any key points? Put ’em in the comments…
Go Cavs.
(And just for the heck of it…)

Rebound. Rebound. Rebound.
Minimize the Celtic’s runs at all costs. The Celts are notorious for big runs (see game 5) at home. The key to today’s game is no different than against Detroit last year. Stay within 8 or 9 points of the lead for the entire game and the Cavs will have a shot. If the Cavs fall behind double digits (especially in the 2nd half) then it will be extremely difficult come back. They need to keep the game as close a possible to have a chance to pull it out in the 4th.
I think to minimize the runs, they need to minimize their turnovers and as Tim says “Rebound. Rebound, Rebound”.
Gasp! They just showed Mike Browns clipboard during pregame! Nevermind I am not worried, it was just a bunch of squiggly lines that went pretty much everywhere.
I like our chances. We are a team that needs motivation, how can you get more motivation potential than game 7?
Cavs down 10 at the half…sure would have been nice for Zydrunas, or Delonte to show up tonight!
Is it bad that I hope Pierce stiffens up from that spill he took right before halftime. He has half of the Celtics points so far.
Can someone please tell me why Mike Brown refuses to put Devin Brown in this game? Tell me he is that much worse than Sasha defending Pierce…
James. 44 points. Teams still down three with a minute left… Ugh, I can’t watch. [peaks]
Well, lets hope the Indians’ offense picks up.
