Jay-Z’s “Blow The Whistle”
April 28, 2008Haywood, Stevenson- It’s Your Fault
April 28, 2008While Mike is going to continue providing his solid work on the Browns recent draft selections, the fact that we made five selections without selecting a defensive back has some scratching their heads. With the focused now turned to the undrafted rookies, James Walker reports that the Browns have already made a move:
Now that the NFL draft is over, teams already are scrambling quickly to sign rookie free agents.
The Cleveland Browns also agreed to terms with undrafted rookie Craig Hormann, a 6-foot-4 quarterback from Columbia University.
Without reading too much into this, I’m a bit confused as to what the Browns were thinking with another QB. The 22-year old is coming off of a senior season that saw him throw more interceptions (15) than touchdowns (12), won one game, and was sacked 21 times.
At least he’s used to taking a pounding. Now, how about a cornerback?

We will sign a at least one undrafted rookie at every position, they do this every year. They will probably sign about 5 DBs and out of those I would put money on one of them making the final roster as a special teams guy. They simply need a bunch of bodies so they can run drills at rookie camp next week, and they are usually signing guys based on athletic potential and not caring about what they actually did in college. He is 6 ft 4, and I would guess he has good arm strength, so they decided to take a shot and maybe he actually has talent, although he probably doesn’t. I am sure the Browns have no intention of actually keeping this kid past the first week of training camp, if that.
