More Trouble In Cincy
April 16, 2008Yet Another Slow Start
April 16, 2008OK. Perhaps the first handful of games for C.C. Sabathia didn’t exactly go as planned. Understatement of the century, I know. But if he’s going to get one, the table appears to be set for tonight as the big man will face Armando Galarraga – a recent call-up from Triple-A Toledo.
Though 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in the minors is definitely better than 0-2 with a 11.57 ERA, this kid hasn’t face the Tribe’s line-up in either of his Triple-A starts. Given the way that Dontrelle Willis was tossing the ball, I would have likely felt a bit more comfortable taking him on as I don’t know much about this Galarraga kid.
Yes, the Tigers are warming up. Yes, they have one of the best line-ups in the league (on paper). And yes, they’re not far removed from the World Series. But C.C. has 13 wins against the Tigers in his lifetime, what says he can’t get his 14th tonight? Of course it could be another rocky one, but I’m behind him. Let’s get the first one out of the way and take it from there.
Feel free to follow along in the comments. I’ll be here all night.

Ugh. Another stellar start for CC.
i hate magglio ordonez. i fucking hate him.
this is not pretty.
CC can’t even hold my jock. He stinks. It’d be nice if he could get some pitches down in the zone.
I love how that live blog turned into a chat about the Browns before the fifth inning even started…
Yeah, it didn’t long at all for things to turn south. Tough to live blog about a game like that.
I know this doesn’t matter… But ESPN Fantasy has a player rater feature. Where they rank all of the players in the MLB based on weighted averages/categories.

You can see where I am going here… CC is dead last.
(Derick Lee is 1st if you cared)
For those in the WFNY fantasy baseball league, please ignore this post and the player rater. It shall not help you.
