February 29, 2008Picks Of The Week – February 29th, 2008
Time for the latest installment of the GAMBLOG. For once, I think I agree with Matt’s pick. Sorry, Matt, looks like you’re about to get one wrong this week. Although, I do appreciate Matt’s disclaimer at the bottom after I gave him a rough time last week about making up spreads. Don’t get me wrong…..He’s still making up spreads, but now he’s giving us a disclaimer. It’s all good, though. His spreads are frighteningly close (almost to the point if you didn’t know better, you might think he’s actually a bookie), and so we’ll continue to go with the flow. Good work as always, Matt. And remember boys and girls, we’re not responsible if you go out and do something illegal with these words. This is just for fun….

Leap Year NBA Edition
Cleveland Cavaliers (32-26) vs Chicago Bulls (23-34)
Quicken Loans Arena,
Sunday, March 2, 2008
1:00 PM EST
ABC, WTAM 1100 AM
As of today both teams are 2-2 since the trade, 1-2 with the players in uniform for the respective teams. All four players have shown signs of life in those new uniforms, but nothing impressive yet. Sunday’s game might just be the fuel they need to get jump started…let’s at least hope that’s the case. After two underwhelming losses, the Cavs desperately need to the rebound this weekend, and the doctor has prescribed two cupcakes for the Cavs to slam down. However, all of us Clevelanders know that no game is ever a cake walk.
I expect the Cavaliers to come out with something to prove, but make some foolish errors that keep the Bulls in the game. LeBron will post his usual 30-8-8, and as long as Z has recovered from his glorified cold, then he should put up 20 and 12 against his old teammate in the post. If those two things happen along with production out of one other Cavalier, then we win. However, the Bulls, like every team except the Grizzles will play us tough and cover the spread.
Official prediction:
Chicago

Well, what can I say. The record ATS drops to 6-2, but that game was sure close. LeBron took over the final 3 minutes and pushed the game out of reach. Cleveland fans can now enjoy the rest of their Sunday afternoon.
