July 25, 2013The news of Kyrie Irving’s appearance as the coverboy for the impending release of EA Sports’ “NBA Live 14” broke a few months ago complete with photoshopped, unofficial versions of the cover. Today, we have the release of the official cover which features a somewhat-digitized Irving providing a bit of a scowl.
EA Sports also released a 30-second trailer, complete with some of Irving’s handles, to accompany the cover. This can be found below.
The release of Live 14 comes with several new user-based additions including “Bouncetek,” a ball-handing based function that “unlocks the full potential of the dribble. “Whether it’s Ricky Rubio’s wrap around or Kyrie Irving’s devastating hesitation dribble, NBA Live 14 puts the control back in your hands,” says EA Sports.
“Live” will go head-to-head with 2K Sports’ NBA 2K14 which has Miami Heat small forward on the cover. It will be a “next generation” game, released for Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One.

FML…this isn’t like the madden curse is it?
I’ll kindly ask you not to use ‘Kyrie Irving’ and ‘broke’ in the same sentence again. Thank you for your attention.
It’s a shame that NBA 2K14 will probably be a much better game. I feel like I should buy this anyway, though.
ha ha was thinking same thing…..
Not a particularly attractive picture…
No worries, it’s the EA curse, making the same Madden over and over and making awful NBA games since 2003!
Speaking of unattractive did you see the pic of lbj on the youtube screen 1st look at NBA 2K14 on PS4/ Looks like he’s welcoming the SOUTH BEACH SAUSAGE!!!
Since Kyrie has spent a third of his NBA career injured so far, maybe this cover will have the opposite effect of the cover jinx…he will play in 82 games.
