Cavaliers Preview Game #34: Hawks at Cavs
December 30, 2009While We’re Waiting… Mack’s Progress, Blount’s Silence, and the Decade’s Worst
December 31, 2009Yes, it is indeed getting old. Correction – it got old a while ago. But, LeBron’s affinity for NYC won’t go to the back burner any time soon, even though he says he won’t be talking about 2010 anymore. No need to say anything when your shoez do the talking though – AMIRITE LEBRON?!
LeBron’s got a new Hardwood Classic version of his Air Max LeBron VII Lows out right now. They’re not red like the mockups that were shown online earlier in the month. They’re old school Cavs colors. You know, blue and orange. Check them out, they’re not bad. But wait, what’s that on the bottom?!
That sound you just heard was me beating my head on my keyboard after typing this. If I didn’t run so much, and if their shoes weren’t so nice I would boycott Nike. Quandry!

freaking Nike… I wonder how much say Lebron has in these shoes as they are being designed. Is this their “subtle” desperate plead to Lebron: “Please, come to NY… after losing Tiger, we ain’t got NUTHIN!”
“They’re not red like the mockups that were shown online earlier in the month. They’re old school Cavs colors. You know, blue and orange. ”
or…..Knick’s colors…but hey, like, whatever man
to paraphrase Jordan: Knick fans wear sneakers too…
might as well sell as many of them as possible before their hearts are broken.
They are going to milk / pimp the summer of Lebron for all it’s worth.
Thats why they call him LeBronx
Aside from us just having to deal with this for the next 10 years (at least) Those shoes are REALLY ugly. BUT, they’d go very nicely with my new Cavs throwback blue and orange #23 Jersey. If LBJ leaves I IMMEDIATELY A.) Burn It, B.) Put Fox on the back and wear it proudly.
@ MC- I think if he could that statement would really look like “THEY’RE OLD SCHOOL CAVS COLORS. YOU KNOW, BLUE AND ORANGE…”
This hurts my self esteem.
I doubt that was Lebron’s idea, but i also dont think he disapproved it either.
Faceplam!
I’m thinking these shoes are part of a series that are suggesting the other teams that could land LeBron in 2010. Both this shoe and the red and blue one have a question mark logo, and are in the colors of other teams. This one would obviously be New York while the number on the red shoe’s bottom may have something to do with population, but I can’t figure it out.
I’m hoping that it’s just nike pimping all they can out of the year of LeBron and not more of him openly telling us he’s leaving.
@ 5haun – I’m racking my brain trying to figure out what the hell it could be on the reds. It’s Russian colors, but the Nets’ new owner is worth more than $1.6 billion. China’s population isn’t set to hit 1.6 billion for a long time.
Would have thought that come July 1, 2010, the Cleveland team closest to a title would be the Browns…
Of course, what I meant was who would have thought the Browns would be our best hope come 7/1/2010…
Personally, I like the irony of the shoe-wearer stepping all over NY.
Seriously who cares. He plays for us and until we see otherwise lets just enjoy him firing up 48 10 6.
Wah wah boo hoo… Thank you Chris. As long as Cleveland fan keep whining about nothing they will deserve exactly that.
Enjoy this season and cry all you want after this summer..
And if you think Tiger & LeBron are all Nike has then you don’t follow Nike or sports.
God bless Ohio!
I work for Nike in Beaverton, OR. Its simply business. They are a small line that he puts out that compliments several cities in the US. There is always an Akron shoe, always a SVSM shoe, always a NY shoe. Its mostly for House of Hoops stores in NY and LA. I always get the free samples of Lebron’s NY shoes, but never wear them because I don’t support it. I just have to go along with it. I can assure you that Nike has no pull over where he plays.
A group of work friends went to his house about 2 months ago to pitch the new line to him in his “sports” TV room, across from his “theatre”. Sounded like a hell of a time.
@Natty
you know if anybody around here will be able to get the shoes above? they would go great with the orange throwback. i am assuming they are not easy to come by
knicks colors? or old school cavs colors
This is clearly the latest instance of LeBron defiling the corpse of NY Knicks hoops. He won’t play there for one very simple reason. They can’t pay him what the Cavs can. Have you people heard of “The Bird Exemption?” Look it up. See LeBron’s Nike commercials. Take heart. Count Cav’s NBA Championships.
Subadi- He would make more in NY then he would here with endorsments (atleast that’s what assumed).
thats also stupid
JK –
I really don’t buy this whole “LeBron will make more in endorsements in NY” argument.
I mean I’m struggling to come with something that he DOESN’T endorse already. What does playing in NYC have to do with that? No one has really been able to point out to me what the new endorsements would be.
