Try reading this article without wanting to punch someone or something. Long-awaited birth? Five Long Years? Is there such a thing?
“It has been five long years since the Yankees could claim this position, needing just nine more innings of winning baseball to punch their ticket to the World Series. […]
It is difficult for some to believe it has taken so long to get back. […]
Though most of the team wasn’t there to witness the heartache, some scars remain.” [Bryan Hoch/MLB.com]

Given that, blog high-fives to the guys at The 700 Level who get to watch their team (and our pitcher) do attempt to repeat. [Kulp/The 700 Level]

Happy Birthday, Don! “In lieu of celebrating my 30 years on this planet by bellying up at the nearest drinking establishment, I decided to come up with 30 reasons (in no particular order) why I occupy my free time watching, thinking about, talking about and, for the last 15 months, blogging about the Cleveland Browns.” [Don Delco/No Logo Needed]

CBJ penalty killing spree: “With a 96.6 percent success rate, the Blue Jackets have the No. 1 penalty kill in the NHL. But even that gaudy number doesn’t fully reveal how impressive the unit has been this season.” [Aaron Portzline/Dispatch]

Maybe I missed it in a post, but Nash had a 3 on 5 shorthanded goal Tuesday night that was absolutely sick. These guys are looking tough so far.
Last night was a good example as to why the Cavs won’t come near their win total from last year. It’s going to take weeks of actual gameplay for this team to get comfortable with eachother both defensively and offensively.
“There’s some young players that probably weren’t even playing pro ball when that happened,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi said.
Call me when most of the earth’s population wasn’t born the last time it happened.
It’s self-centered stuff like this that makes me hate east coast teams and pitt.
The yankee article makes me want to throw something through a window. If it were from a yankees site I would understand, but its from MLB.COM! …listed under “news!” 5 LONG years? and ONLY 5 starters from that team remain? The author calls it heartache! HEARTACHE that its taken the yankees FIVE YEARS to get back!
ok, I’m done yelling.
That craigslist post, on the other hand, is hilarious! Where’s Lt. Dan when you need him?
Lew-tennit Dan… ICE CREAM!
Anybody see the Jimmy Rollins/Henry Hill mashup? It’s amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuLb0Tnr3Ls
Do you have any idea how many times people have jokingly asked me if it is MY list? BWAHAHAHAHA…. teeee heee heee hheeeeee… (BLECH!)
That video made me feel really strange. Not in a good way.
Boo-Hoo Yankees fans! 5 LONG YEARS! That must have been so tough. Here… why don’t you just take the pitcher that we created and loved… that should help you get over those 5 excruciating years.
The Yankees are the Harlem Globetrotters, the rest of the league is the Washington Generals.
That’s why I don’t follow baseball anymore.
Good to see Jackets stuff in the WWW
Ok, so where did that colorful Yankees picture come from? Very nice work.
@#7 think they’ll take Fausto? Maybe Hafner?
Ultimate jinx.. Last night the Oilers scored 2 pp goals on the Jackets and we lost again… Yay.
