Jay Mariotti is Wrong Even When He is Right
August 3, 2009MLB Trade Rumors: Could King Carl Be Next Out the Door?
August 3, 2009While rookies James Davis and Jordan Norwood continue to draw praise, and the quarterback battle plods along, something we may want to keep an eye on is the recent ankle injury to Shaun Rogers.
The OBR comes through with the following:
He was [later] overheard complaining about his cleats as the culprit, as he said they were hurting his feet. But it is hard to overlook the heavily-bandaged right ankle he is currently sporting. Between the two, maybe it provides some excuses as to why he power walked around the field during a lap required for a mistake. Maybe the term “power walk” is being overly generous… “tortoise-like” could be more appropriate.
It is no surprise that the injury is being deemed “unspecified,” but after being limited in yesterday’s practice and taking to the stationary bike again this morning, we will continue to monitor his status. An ankle, after all, is a pretty vital joint for a football player – especially if said player is north of 300 lbs. For comparison purposes, rookie Don Carey has an injured shoulder and was not on the field. Here’s hoping that Rogers’ injury is as minor as the team is making it look.
Teammate Braylon Edwards reportedly continues to work the sideline as well. He was seen doing a lot of biking, sprinting and footwork drills this weekend. Odds are that this will continue until the team feels he is ready to partake in the contact drills that the rest of the team is enduring.

I look forward to it becoming a staph infection!
World’s largest exercise bike? Discuss.
World’s unluckiest bicycle seat? Discuss.
market for flavored mouthguards?
I’ll be honest, I don’t really care much if someone like Rogers misses training camp. He’s a vet. He does what he does.
Generally, I wouldn’t care if Braylon missed camp either, were it not for the QB-Battle.
I wouldn’t care if Braylon missed camp either, but then 2008 happened.
I was hoping Shaun Rogers would have let his mohawk grow during the off season.
there’s a bike seat there? in that picture ? where?!?!?
I knew adamantium existed…
Think Arizona would take Braylon and both Smiths for Boldin? That would be awesome…now excuse me, I have to wake up
Thanks to JackGonzo for making me look up the word “adamantium.” I am now smarter.
Wolverine right?
