Cavs get George Hill and Rodney Hood too: NBA Trade Deadline

Koby Altman’s usage rate is out of this world. Not satisfied with dealing two players and a pick to the west coast, the Cavaliers’ rookie general manager stayed on the phones and brought back a few more new faces.

If Craig lacked the appropriate time for perspective on Isaiah Thomas being shipped to Los Angeles, I don’t know what to say about the latest flurry of moves that saw the Cavaliers ship out Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, and Iman Shumpert while welcoming in George Hill and Rodney Hood. So, I’m just going to let the Tweets do the talking.

What just happened indeed?

If you’re keeping score at home, here is a quick recap:

Cavs part ways with:

  • Isaiah Thomas
  • Channing Frye
  • Iman Shumpert
  • Jae Crowder
  • Derrick Rose
  • Dwayne Wade

Cavs acquire:

  • Larry Nance Jr (yep, his dad’s number hangs from the ceiling)
  • Jordan Clarkson
  • George Hill
  • Rodney Hood

How will these new players mesh together? What happens when Kevin Love comes back? Seriously will the Cavs have enough able bodies for their game against Atlanta Friday night? These answers and trade analysis will all come in time, but for now we have a little more time before the 3pm trade deadline. Keep it tuned to WFNY for more trade updates as (if) they happen.
