WFNY TV – What does the Blake Griffin trade mean for the Cavs?
January 30, 2018Final 2017 Cleveland Browns Report Card: Safety
January 31, 2018What a rollercoaster of a season it’s been for the Cleveland Cavaliers. After winning two consecutive games, things were beginning to look up, at least on the court. Then Tuesday night happened. In the midst of his best season as a Cav, Kevin Love suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left hand early on in the first quarter against the Detroit Pistons, the team announced.
Kevin Love left Tuesday’s Cavs game against the Pistons in Detroit during the first quarter with a left hand injury. He received X-rays at the arena which revealed a non-displaced fracture in his left hand fifth metacarpal. Kevin will not return to play against the Pistons. His status will be updated after additional examination and consultation on Wednesday in Cleveland.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the fracture will likely force the big man to miss 6-to-8 weeks.

Here’s a look at the play when Love broke his hand. Seems like a freak injury that happened on a normal basketball play. Outside of him wincing, you’d have no idea it happened. He even played the next 1:32 after breaking his hand.
With the injury, it will be the second straight year that Love will be forced to miss the All-Star Game. In 2017, he underwent knee surgery on February 14, causing him to miss the game just five days later. With his broken hand that he suffered tonight, he will be forced to miss this year’s All-Star Game on February 18.
Although tests have already shown that his hand is broken, Love will undergo further tests tomorrow morning in Cleveland after swelling is reduced to see just how severe the fracture is.
WFNY’s Jeff Nomina took to YouTube to talk about Love’s injury and what the Cavs might possibly do to replace his scoring.
Stay up to date with WFNY as we will continue to talk about Love’s injury and the things the wine and gold can possibly do to make up for his scoring and rebounding, whether it be with players currently on the team or ones that could be acquired in a trade. There will be plenty of changes in the All-Star forward’s absence.

It’s his fault the Cavs stink, anyway.
Right?
Welp…that about seals it.
I wonder if IT confronted him about it.
He probably demanded to see the X-rays
Yep. Time to send LBJ packing to one of his no-trade clause approved teams, and get something before he walks.
This Cavs season has been approximately 0 fun. The Browns season was negative fun. The Indians season before that was fun, but the playoffs were massively disappointing. Cleveland sports are back to being Cleveland sports.
It was a good run, though!
I think the Browns season was more fun than this Cavs season.
There is nothing fun about watching a bunch of underachieving footsoldiers led by an apathetic King play out the season.
Probably an IT/Jeff Gilooly/Shawn Eckardt thing. Now just waiting for Thomas to clank a lay up, throw that little leg up on the scorer’s table and start whining about his broken sneaker lace.
IT is watching his lucrative FA 2019 contract disappear down the drain.
I dunno man – the Browns season was untenable. Not to say that this Cavs season is any good…but at least the Cavs have won a game.
Nice Tonya Harding reference!
yeah. In addition to the valid injury rehab problems, I’m sure that’s a part of his wanting to jack all sorts of shots. He knows no one’s paying big bucks to a 30 year old, undersized guy scoring 12 PPG.
Ever since the Cavs came back from down 3-1 against a 73-win team with the first ever unanimous MVP…
Cavs: watch the team they beat add arguably the 2nd best player in the league and then proceed to get stomped in the next Finals by that emerging dynasty. Trade the player who hit the biggest shot in franchise history for a rich man’s Kay Felder who tears apart the team from the inside, lose Kevin Love to a pre-ASG injury AGAIN, pave the way for LBJ to leave again (this time rightfully/more understandably).
Indians: blew a 3-1 lead in the WS, blew 2-0 lead in the first round, watched 2 of their better hitters leave without comparably replacing them
Browns: 1-15 and 0-16. And they’re still the Browns.
Each team has somehow gotten worse each subsequent season. If it comes out that someone sold their soul after game 4 of the 2016 NBA Finals, creating an actual curse as soon as the series ended, I for one will not be shocked.
Ugh – seeing it written out like that makes my soul sad.
The wrath of GPODAWUND.
Fear him! Worship him!

We had a 25 y/o guard who averaged over 20 PPG, but our former GM St. Griffin tried to trade him and said guard got all pissy pants. Yada yada yada, now we’re stuck with a broken midget, a very lost Crowder wandering around, and a draft pick that we don’t know what to do with. Good times.
And a King who bought a new palace in LA last month.
It was me. Sorry.
We got our one. Worth it.
