A Hawkeye’s View: While We’re Waiting

September 28, 2017Much like last week’s game against UNLV, the Ohio State Buckeyes are supposed to dominate Rutgers Saturday night. With that said, that doesn’t mean you can’t get excited for the game or want it to be Saturday night.
In order to help you get ready for the primetime matchup, the team released their weekly video trailer that features plenty of hard-hitting, touchdown-making, and jaw-dropping plays throughout.
It starts with a behind-the-scenes look at some of Ohio State’s warmups prior to last Saturday’s game against UNLV. Then, whether it was Dre’Mont Jones’ sack for a safety, Nick Bosa batting passes down at the line, Rashod Berry’s impressive touchdown catch and run, J.K. Dobbins juking a defender out of their shoes, or plenty of other highlights, the video and graphic team did their best to include everything they could from last week’s game.
The Buckeyes opened the season in Bloomington against Big Ten foe Indiana, but with the non-conference part of their schedule done, the game at Rutgers on Saturday will officially open the Big Ten season for the Buckeyes. In case they needed any motivation against one of the worst teams in the conference, head coach Urban Meyer gave them an idea of what needs to happen.
“This is Big Ten season time now. What are you and who do you want to be? This is about being the fiercest competitor,” Meyer yells. “A fierce competitor is one that refuses to lose. To be passionate. To be everything you can possibly be. You be that today.”
The trailer concludes with a simple, but meaningful, message: Bring the Energy. Bring the Passion. Bring on the Big Ten.
Ohio State may be a heavy favorite, but they can’t take Rutgers lightly. If they do, the Scarlet Knights could keep things closer than they should be. If anything, Saturday night’s game should be another one where the backups receive plenty of playing time and experience for the future.
