Ezekiel Elliott suspended for six games by the NFL

The Waiting For Next Year podcast is back and Andrew and Craig are discussing Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension. Normally this time of year, we’d be discussing the Browns and the Browns only, but with a high profile former Buckeye like Zeke in the news, it made sense to discuss.

I forgot how much I love that scene. Those soldiers have been walking dogs on top of that underground wall for years and years.

  • The tanks under the parade floats will never not make me el oh el.

It’s almost like we have an entire section at WFNY dedicated to the Buckeyes or something 🙂

Last time I checked, he was a Cowboy.

Weird that no one mentions it, but I don’t actually think this is legal. Suspending him for the titty episode etc is fine, and up to whatever behavioral guidelines the NFL decides to hold itself to. But to go into the alleged domestic violence case when it had been dismissed by law enforcement is double jeopardy. Right?

  • mgbode

    Once a Buck, always a Buck 🙂

  • No. Double jeopardy applies to the legal system. This falls under discipline as dictated by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and the Players Association.

  • “The Titty Episode” would be a fantastic band name.

  • Skulb

But isn’t it second guessing the legal system? I mean, when a case has been dropped you can’t just privately reinvestigate and relitigate it, can you? And the NFL too, from Deflategate fame. Haven’t they proven exhaustively that they have zero investigative skills?

  • You absolutely can if you’ve collectively bargained it. Again, this is a labor issue, not a legal one.
