Junk science, self esteem myth, and coaching: While We’re Waiting
June 14, 2017Indians Lose to Dodgers; Aggressive Direction in 2017 MLB Draft
June 14, 2017Say what you want about Lamar Ball, but know that his son, Lonzo, will gladly be in on the joke. In a new commercial from Foot Locker titled “Father’s Day,” NBA prospects De’Aaron Fox, Jonathan Isaac and Jayson Tatum reminisce about the bonds they share with their fathers and reflect on memories, including playing one-on-one in the driveway or traveling to high school basketball games. The spot then cuts to Ball who describes the first time his dad went HAM on a head coach for “not getting him enough touches,” trademarked his name, and would later go on a notable sports news show while shouting back and forth with the host about how he was already better than the reigning league MVP.
“The NBA Draft is a milestone I’ve been working toward for a long time and it’s exciting to celebrate it with a Foot Locker commercial,” said Ball in a press statement. “I loved last year’s spot with Ben Simmons and D’Angelo Russell and I love how they give us players the opportunity to make light out of things. It’s been a big year for my family, and I know we’re just getting started. My dad and I both love the humor of the spot and I’m glad I got to have a little fun around the topic before going to the league.”
The spot will air nationally on ESPN during the live broadcast of the 2017 NBA Draft on June 22 and is part of Foot Locker’s “Approved” platform, created by worldwide agency BBDO.

Tragic. Zero humor in teaching your kid to be an ass.
I pray that the Lakers take anybody not named Lonzo Ball.
Do we know that Lonzo is “an ass?”
Fair point and I thought about that after I hit the button. May be better phrased as teaching your kid that it’s OK to be an ass.
In your defense, you never said Lonzo actually took to his father’s teachings, merely that that’s what his father tried to teach him.
In Scott’s defense, he never accused you of actually calling Lonzo “an ass,” merely asking if we know whether or not he is one.
In Kyrie’s defense,
(see what I did there? Kyrie doesn’t have any defense! What’s that? No I don’t want to see myself out)
P.S. Totally kidding about Kyrie’s defense. I miss him already.
The “fishing” tag at the end was great.
