The Ohio State Buckeyes won an instant classic over the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday. It produced no shortage of video highlights both in the game and outside of the game.
After watching the full package game summary, even the Cliff’s Notes version of this year’s game are compelling due to all the ups and downs, double overtime, and ultimate comeback. Failed fake punts, turnovers, big returns, missed field goals, referee reviews, and that’s before we even get to the postgame drama of Jim Harbaugh ripping officials in brutal fashion.
After obsessing over the clips for the last two days, I figured I should gather a bunch of them together so we’ll always be able to look back on the different storylines from a legendary clash between the No. 2 and No. 3 in the country in a rivalry game. This kind of matchup doesn’t happen every year or maybe even every decade,1 so it should be revered.
First up? Here’s the way the Big Ten Network told the story.
Before we get to the sugar, I figure we should go ahead and get the salt out of the way. Here’s Jim Harbaugh complaining about the referees in the postgame presser.
We can’t let him get the last word, however. We’ll leave that to Dustin Fox.
Even when it comes to postgame to the victor go the spoils. So, hail to the Buckeyes. We’ll begin with Urban Meyer pumping up the crowd, and then we’ll get to the presser where Urban not only took a phone call from his wife wherein she tells him to bring home milk, but she also explained his decision to fake a punt deep in Buckeyes territory.

Urban Meyer reacts to the Buckeyes’ win by collapsing on face-first onto the field.

And of course, you can’t tell the story of 2016 Ohio State vs. Michigan without replaying the day that took Curtis Samuel from being a great Buckeye to legendary status. Samuel had a decisive last word for the second overtime period, so it’s fitting he gets the last word on this highlight post.
And finally, a field-level view of Curtis Samuel’s game-winning run.
