Ohio State’s offense struggles, still beat Indiana, 38-17
October 8, 2016Tom Brady, Patriots pillage Browns, 33-13
October 9, 2016The Cleveland Browns are at the forefront of nearly every network’s coverage of Week 5 as they’re the host team for the return of New England’s quarterback, Tom Brady, who finally sat out the four game for which he was suspended for something that took place more than 600 days prior. If there is any good news to be had for Cleveland, coming into the game as 10-point underdogs at home, it’s the return of rookie defensive end Carl Nassib who missed the last two weeks after suffering a broken bone in his hand during the team’s Week 2 loss to Baltimore.
Taking Nassib’s place on the Browns’ inactive list is center Austin Reiter who suffered an injured ACL in his lone start of the NFL season in Week 4’s loss to Washington. With the Browns unable to move him to the injured reserve for at least another week1, Reiter is one of two centers on the team’s Week 5 inactive list as Week 1 starter, Cameron Erving, is still nursing a bruised lung.
Quarterback Josh McCown, wide receiver Corey Coleman, cornerback Tramon Williams, and tight ends Randall Telfer and Seth DeValve round out the team’s Street Clothes Crew. Coleman, like Nassib, injured his hand three weeks ago. He could return as early as Week 7 in Cincinnati against the Bengals. McCown was the subject of reports stating he could return earlier than expected, but the Browns may continue to roll with Kessler once the veteran back-up is cleared for play.
