NEO High School Football Week 1: Hoban, Mentor start off strong
August 29, 2016Patience with the Browns and analytics: While We’re Waiting…
August 30, 2016On the same day the Cleveland Browns cut last year’s starting kicker in Travis Coons, last season’s starting nickel back in K’Waun Williams, and last season’s starting outside linebacker in Paul Kruger, they have opted to trade last season’s starting punter Andy Lee to the Carolina Panthers.
The #Browns have traded P Andy Lee to the #Panthers, source said.

According to Rapoport, the Browns will receive Carolina punter Kasey Redfern and a fourth-round pick in 2018. Lee will head to Carolina along with a seventh-round selection.
If you recall, Lee, as recent as last week, was henceforth named Badass Andy Lee, but that same Lee drew the ire of head coach Hue Jackson as he failed to give as much as a modicum of effort in hindering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from returning a punt on Friday night.

Lee, 34, was acquired by the Ray Farmer-led regime for a 2017 seventh-round pick, but he was due $2.83 million this season. If the Kruger termination told us anything, it’s that this front office values nothing more than cap space and draft picks. The Sashi Brown-Paul DePodesta regime will get back a fourth-round pick (which seems insane for a punter, but what do I know?) and will go into the 2016 season with a more affordable option at punter. Redfern is currently under contract as a reserve/futures player.
It was a great run, Badass Andy Lee. Enjoy the playoffs. And Bojangles.
