Can RG3 be his rookie year-self in 2016?
August 24, 20162016 Browns Preview: Offensive Line
August 24, 2016Has the WFNY ownership team ever all been on a podcast together? I don’t think it’s ever happened. We occasionally do conference calls to talk about things and make plans, but we’ve never recorded anything with all three of us. That is, until now.
Last night before getting down to some other “bidness” Scott, Andrew and I decided to gab on the record about a variety of topics. There has been a lot of existential conversation about WFNY and the media environment we are a (small) part of in 2016. We touch on some of those things and wonder a bit about what the outside world thinks of a site like ours that’s been around as long as we have.
Hope you enjoy the conversation.

Just wanted to remind you that there is a whole bunch of Cleveland sports fans North Of The Border who REALLY appreciate ALL your efforts. After looking at other outlets, we ALWAYS head here to see what the story REALLY is.
Keep up the GREAT work…….we NEED you!
Keep On Chooglin’!
I don’t think it’s fair or prudent to look back and compare eras of WFNY. They’ve all been worth reading, and i would think the readers understand when you’re taking chances and when you’re going to be pulling back.
But I do miss some old writers, the weekend write-ups, and the live threads for Browns/Bucks games.
thanks for sharing thoughts, guys. Scott is more correct than he probably realizes: most of us readers have little idea, and less appreciation, of the effort/time/grind it takes to make this go.
I think contributor quality remains strong. And although I’m not sure he still does it, the readability and general professionalism also shot up when Will started proofreading others.
Assuming the issues that led you to try Scout still exist, here’s a request: make keeping the Comments section a deal-breaker of future deals. We’ve come back, but the forum thing just didn’t work for your peculiar interactive community, even if in theory it should have. We’re pack animals – kill the easy interaction, slow-kill the pack.
Denny!
We learned a lot from that experiment. And what we learned is that comments is a formula we cannot easily mess with. I think it’s safe to say that comments will be a part of WFNY for a very long time.
(and thus I just jinxed it and ensured that comments will be going away shortly. Sorry!)
Thanks for this insight, and thanks for doing the hard work to keep us engaged and entertained.
