March 14, 2016While the E in “PE” stands for exclusive, it appears that the one recently bestowed upon the Duke men’s basketball team can soon be yours. According to Foot Locker, the Duke-inspired Kyrie 2 will hit shelves on March 19, just in time for the first weekend of March Madness.
As we mentioned on Monday morning, Irving is a part of Nike Basketball’s #BringYourGame campaign that has several current NBA stars (and Kelly Olynyk) representing their alma mater in advance of the 2016 men’s Division I tournament.
As take-or-leave as the “Brotherhood” colorways of Irving’s signature shoe have been, this one is easily a must have for fans of the Kyrie 2. While the lyon blue base of the general release pops nicely compared to the Kyrie 1, the addition of the DUKE details along the heel coupled with the two-tone, lyon blue piping on the “KI” tongue logo make this sneaker one of the best to be released thus far. The only question that remains is whether or not this release will swap the “KI” for the numeral 1 on the left shoe like they did for Kyrie’s former squad.
According to Foot Locker, this release will be both online and in stores. To find a store near you, hit up their launch locator. There is currently no word on the cost, but previous editions of Irving’s second signature shoe have run for $120.
