Browns Head Coach Search: Adam Gase off the board; Matt Patricia a good fit?
January 11, 2016LeBron James Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Record 50th Time
January 11, 2016I have no idea if Robert Griffin III is a good player or a good prospect, but I hope he is and I hope the Cleveland Browns want him. He’s a dude with physical abilities and at only 25 years old, he’d be a solution, you know, assuming he’s a solution. On this episode, I fly solo and talk about Griffin, the insane finish to the Steelers-Bengals game and a bunch of other things regarding the NFL playoffs.

I’d at least have a conversation with him. He’s not blameless but Washington was dysfunctional for a few years there in a way that could only be rivaled by, well, you know. There doesn’t look to be a Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck at the top of the 2016 draft, and if they could pick somebody up with some potential and then draft a different position it would allow for greater impact in the draft.
Very true. I like this alternative to drafting a QB in the early rounds of this draft, unless the Browns decide one of the QB’s in this draft is going to be a top 15 QB in the NFL in 5 years. The learning curb wouldn’t be so steep, and the risk wouldn’t be as great. Screwing up this draft would be devastating.
It would be nice if we could get a coach with a background running some variation of the spread which is adaptable to the NFL, and see what they could do with either 1.) RGIII in a new situation or 2.) a refocused Manziel. Let those guys compete (assuming Manziel is still around) and see what happens.
I’m not automatically against an RG3 reclamation project but does he even want to be reclaimed? He was his own worst enemy at many times.
On the RG3 front, I think that Flip could build a system around him, rather than stick him in a box like what w as happening in Washington. I like the idea, it’s a little more exciting than hoping not to totally blow another draft pick on a qb we can ruin.
Grab Wentz in the 3rd if he is available, and develop him along side of RG.
I’d bail on Manziel at this point, just not worth the headache, imo
RG3 was so accurate in college. I would not be surprised if he could be a successful pocket passer in the NFL. Bringing him in could get the fanbase excited without risking an early pick (or a late round pick for that matter).
While I completely understand your viewpoint on Manziel, I am hesitant to give up on him. I like the idea of having two QBs on the roster that need similar systems built around them and having them compete for the job. Both of them have had issues unrelated to their physical attributes, and this situation could potentially bring out the best of both of them. That being said, Manziel would have to be 100% committed in order to avoid being cut.
Also, I like the alternative of picking Wentz in the 2nd or 3rd round and going for another position in the 1st round. I am not sold on any of these QBs as being talented enough to be drafted 2nd overall.
No thanks to RG-Me
Great question. I’m not that familiar with his situation. The skins haven’t even resigned Cousins yet
