I’ve been writing and contributing at WFNY since September of 2008. It’s amazing to think it’s been that long. Things have changed in Cleveland sports and my life as I’ve had two kids and moved twice since beginning as a contributor to WFNY. The only thing that hasn’t changed are the number of championship parades down Euclid, but there’s time yet. The other obvious shift for me with regard to WFNY is the fact that I’m so focused on podcasting. As a result, my spotlight will be podcast episodes.

Five podcasts that best describe Craig Lyndall from 2015

Traditional:Scott Raab was a very important part of the WFNY podcast when we used to speak every Monday morning. It was probably too frequent for such a long-form podcast, but I’ll always be appreciative that he was willing to do it and help me establish an audience. He came back on the podcast on September 5, 2015 to talk about the Browns heading into the 2015 NFL season, Mark Shapiro’s exit to Toronto, and LeBron James and the Cavaliers.

Variety: Martin Rickman has always been a gracious contributor to the WFNY podcast even as his career has developed on an exploding upward trajectory. When we talk it’s always easy to have the conversation wander in wonderful directions.

Duos: It’s always nice to talk to Chad Zumock or Will Burge, but in January 2015 it came together where I had them both at the same time. And Chad is so gracious that he brought Chris Clem to my house and we all podcasted in my basement. We played pinball. It was awesome.

Educational: Andre Knott made his WFNY podcast debut from the road while he was covering the Indians. We spoke for a long time about jobs and media and it really turned into a thoughtful, educational podcast about working your way up through the media. Of all the podcasts that I did this year that are “evergreen” I think this might be the most universal.

Nicknames: Last but not least, Dennis Manoloff killed it on our podcast talking about his book and not letting Mark Shapiro off the hook at all.
