December 20, 2015If Dwayne Bowe were to earn a modicum of his compensation for this season, Week 15 would be a good time to start. With Brian Hartline done for the season with a broker collarbone and Andrew Hawkins still not being cleared from the NFL’s concussion protocol, Bowe will be dressed this Sunday alongside Travis Benjamin, Taylor Gabriel and Terrelle Pryor as Cleveland’s wide recevier corps in Seattle as the Browns attempt to stun the Seahawks.
Hawkins is joined by cornerback K’Waun Williams (shoulder) and running back Glenn Winston (concussion) as the three injured Browns to be listed on this week’s inactive list. The rest of the list—cornerback Justin Gilbert, running back Daryl Richardson, offensive lineman Kaleb Johnson, and wide receiver Rannell Hall—are all healthy scratches with Gilbert being the only one to have more than a week’s worth tenure with the team.
Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas is active despite missing a chunk of practice this week with a knee injury, thus preserving his streak of not missing a game since being drafted with the third pick in 2007. Kicker Travis Coons (right groin) and wide receiver Marlon Moore (ribs) are active despite being listed as questionable. Quarterback Austin Davis will serve as the team’s emergency kicker in the event Coons cannot finish.
Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is coming of one of the best performances of his career, but will undoubtedly have his work cut out for him against the Seahawks defense considering the team’s growing list of injured skill players. Hartline’s absence is a crushing blow as the veteran had averaged eight catches per game since the team’s bye, hauling in over 100 yards last week before leaving with his injury.
Bowe, signed this offseason for $9 million in guaranteed money, has long had the skill set to thrive in the Browns’ offense, but has been inactive more often than not, almost exclusively without injury. He has three catches for 31 yards on the season.

And somewhere Mike Pettine cries proudful tears into his cake that reads “You Are A Big Boy, Promise.”
no , he’s no longer a pro-bowl type , but bowe should’ve easily attained approx 40 catches , 500 or so yards & maybe a few td’s had he been allowed to play … and he would’ve at least provided a bigger body out there.
even considering he was hurt all pre-season & fell behind the others , something happened with him & pettine that he ended-up a healthy scratch so many times.
who knows , maybe pettine’s hard stance with bowe , manziel & others may actually end-up paying off if he is still with the browns next year.
