Waiting for Terrelle Pryor
December 14, 2015Five Buckeyes named as AP All-Americans
December 14, 2015Kevin Love wasn’t the only casualty in Game 4 of last year’s first-round playoff series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics. Love famously had his shoulder separated by Boston’s Kelly Olynyk, but the Cavs dished out some questionable justice when J.R. Smith leveled Celtics forward Jae Crowder with a backhand right while the two were battling for a rebound.
A reminder of what that looked like:
Smith was called for a flagrant-2 foul and ejected. Crowder suffered a sprained left ACL during the fall, ending his season. While Olynyk reached out to Love and the two have reportedly squashed their beef, Smith has offered no apology to Crowder. The Boston forward wants one before the teams meet Tuesday night at the TD Garden.
From ESPN’s Chris Forsberg:
“I hope he apologizes [Tuesday], to be honest with you,” said Crowder, who avoided surgery but spent the early part of his offseason rehabbing the injury that occurred as he fell to the court. Smith was ejected and suspended for two games for the incident, but has apparently not apologized to Crowder.
Added Crowder: “I hope it wasn’t intentional. But if he doesn’t [apologize], then we’ll play ball.”
When asked if Smith delivered a cheap shot, Crowder repeated himself.
“I hope he apologizes tomorrow,” Crowder said. “But if he doesn’t, we’ll play ball.”

Is this what the kids mean when they say “it’s lit?”
Too funny.
So I should assume Crowder has apologized for the three fouls he committed in the three seconds prior to getting whacked, right?
This was an inexcusable meltdown by JR, and he should be the bigger man and apologize.
However, watching this replay makes me upset at how the refs let aggressive play tip over into violence. One whistle on the 3 fouls Crowder committed would have preempted the whole thing from happening.
Good thing JR only used his back hand!
NBA has worst officiating of any of the professional sports although with each passing week I think the NFL is getting closer. In the playoffs everyone starts playing defense and as a result things get notched up which includes physicality. As far as JR goes he probably should have already apologized but honestly I don’t care not after Olynk arm barred Kevin Love out of the playoffs.
Spinning back fists can be a devastating martial arts move – even more damaging than a punch
Don’t you feel Olynk’s apology in some sense ups the ante?

That’s professional basketball. You play like an animal, (apologies to animals) you get planted on your butt. Very surprising to me that he feels an apology is warranted.
That was a dirty series by Boston in general. The refs let the shenanigans go on way too long and created an environment for this. Sorry he got planted but he was no saint in that series and specifically not on that play.
After seeing the reply again now, it was pretty vicious. As Humboldt said, blame lies with the refs for letting it get out of hand.
Agree about the refs. Boston knew they were going to be swept so they played like punks.
totally agree. Dude deserved a retaliation. Unfortunately for him, he got knocked the frack out!
That was the only reason why I thought JR should have apologized. The fact he hasn’t makes tomorrow’s game a little irrelevant for me. In other words it’s a little late.
Chief Executive of Yahoo! – Marissa Meyer , is recommending people to start freelancing from home… Something that I have been doing for over 2 years now. My profit, for this year alone is $54.59k so far and all I needed was nothing more than my laptop and several hrs of free time each week at home working online job over internet company, despite that i have a full-time employment beside it. Great thing is that even newbies, can get $50/hr with no trouble and the earnings can go even higher over time… This is where i started.

Why not just go to the zoo, then? Oh wait, you’re obviously into dehumanization. You fit quite well into the category of “sports fanatic.”
