New-look CSU Vikings get first win of 2015-16
November 18, 2015Get a glimpse inside LeBron James’ $21 million LA mansion
November 18, 2015As we discussed during the initial launch of Nike’s LeBron 13, the four-time MVP’s signature line will have a host of colorways that pay homage to the man himself as opposed to past editions that were a little more exotic. Friday, November 13 saw the release of “Horror Flick,” a white-based colorway that was rooted in LeBron James’ love of 80s and 90s horror films, and Saturday, November 21 will take things a bit more geographic.
The LeBron 13 “Akronite Philosophy” incorporates a black base with a five-color upper graphic that attests to James’s loyalty and pride for his hometown of Akron, Ohio, and his journey to Miami and back. The multi-color composition features star, lake, hill, field and beach motifs in bright pops of blue, orange, yellow, green and fuchsia—all of which represent James’s path from St. Vincent-St. Mary high school to Cleveland, Miami and back to the lakefront in attempt to bring Cleveland an championship. Wheat fields worked into the graphics represent James’ Akron upbringing, while palm trees are a nod to his championships in Miami. The “L” and “J” that typically don the heel of the LeBron 13 has been replaced by a “330.”
The “Akronite Philosophy” colorway will be available Saturday, November 21 at Nike.com and select retail stores globally. It will retail for $200.
