The King’s Quarter: 76ers-Cavaliers, Behind the Box Score
November 6, 2015Pettine, Schwartz, and Greco discuss Manziel’s performance
November 7, 2015The Tennessee Titans have reportedly released running back Terrance West, this according to ESPN.com’s Jeremy Fowler.
After being selected in the third-round of the 2014 draft by Cleveland, the the Browns traded West to the Tennessee Titans at the end of the 2015 preseason for what was a conditional seventh-round pick. With the firing of head coach Ken Whisenhunt earlier this week, the Titans new head coach decided that he had enough of West’s inconsistency, just like the Browns had done.
Because West totaled only 16 carries for 51 yards in two games for the Titans this season, he didn’t play enough to satisfy the conditions of the trade. Thus, the Browns will receive nothing in return in the trade with Tennessee and the Titans will receive their seventh-round pick back from the previous trade with Cleveland.
Before getting traded to the Titans, the 24-year old led the Browns with 171 carries and 673 yards (3.9 yards per carry), including four touchdowns during his rookie campaign. He also attained 11 catches for 64 yards and one touchdown as well. Even though he led the team in both rushing attempts and rushing yards, West spent a lot of time in Browns head coach Mike Pettine’s doghouse due to his iconsistency during his rookie season.
So if you’re keeping score at home, the Browns front office used a third-round draft selection (acquired in a trade for a fourth- and sixth-round pick with San Francisco) just over a year ago and now have absolutely nothing to show for it. Devonta Freeman, the best running back in the NFL through eight weeks, was selected by the Atlanta Falcons nine picks later.

Incredible.
Well damn, shouldn’t we get West’s rights back?
At least Farmer fleeced the Titans??
But it cost them nothing… so did he?
“Should the Cleveland Browns fire Ray Farmer?”
That’s….what I thought you said.
So Pettine’s doghouse is so damn cold and unforgiving that West couldn’t even thaw out in Tennessee. FIRE PETTINE!
(I kid). Think about it – it’s hard for a 7th rounder to make a team, but Tennessee already decided they’d rather take a chance on that unknown guy than tolerate West another game.
I’m thinking character issues of Manziel + Gilbert + West > Jeremiah Pharms. Take that, Dwight Clark. You lose again.
He is not worth anything
