Cleveland Browns Training Camp Day 5: In Pictures
August 5, 2015Lamenting LeBron’s Likely Olympic Absence
August 5, 2015First in our hearts, second in the weight room? On Tuesday, STACK Magazine ranked the weight rooms of all 32 NFL teams and — perhaps surprisingly — our very own Cleveland Browns came in second overall. Here’s what STACK had to say about the team’s facility:
“The Cleveland Browns have been awful for almost two decades now, but it’s not for a lack of a proper weight room. This off-season, the Browns installed something called the Elite Form System, which charts each exercise being performed by a specific player using 3D motion technology and infrared cameras. The results are sent to a database that can be accessed by coaches and trainers and posted on a digital leaderboard inside the weight room.
‘It’s state of the art,’ cornerback Pierre Desir told clevelandbrowns.com. ‘To see how much power and velocity you have right then and there is so helpful.’
Pretty high-tech stuff.”
STACK, a magazine and online publication that touts itself as “by athletes, for athletes,” points out the importance of a team’s weight room, where players spend hundreds of hours training and lifting to prepare—and maintain—their bodies for the grueling duration of the 16-game NFL season.
The rest of the top 10 team weight rooms looked like this:
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2. Cleveland Browns
3. Philadelphia Eagles
4. Denver Broncos
5. Chicago Bears
6. Carolina Panthers
7. Cincinnati Bengals
8. Arizona Cardinals
9. New York Jets
10. Jacksonville Jaguars
It’s also important to note that the Pittsburgh Steelers’ weight room came in somewhere around number 24, lumped in with 12 other NFL teams about which STACK had this to say:
“We tried to find something unique and wonderful—something that stood out—about each of these teams’ weight rooms, but in all honesty, they are all relatively the same. Nothing special about them, just a combination of the type of equipment you’d expect to find in an NFL weight room along with team decals on the weights and walls. We wish we could say more about these 13 teams in the muddled middle but you’d fall asleep from repetition.”
I’ll just leave that right there.

I was going to joke that the Patriots have already hacked our weight room database, but that would imply that the Patriots are worried about the Browns.
If only the weight training did things like…protect players’ hamstrings…
yet, the picture they use is of players doing bandwork. haha.
Getting rid of Myslinski was a good move. Unless you’re a fan of the “Tunch Punch Ladder.”
