August 13, 2015With fall camp beginning this week, the reigning College Football Playoff Champion Ohio State Buckeyes will have their own show on the Big Ten Network during their fall camp. “Scarlet and Gray Days: Inside Ohio State Training Camp” will debut on Wednesday, August 19.
“Over our nearly eight-year history, BTN has consistently demonstrated an ability to tell the story of our conference, schools and athletes via original programming,” said BTN President Mark Silverman. “As a testament to our track record, Ohio State is trusting us to do just that as the Buckeyes embark on yet another potentially historic season.
The reality show is purely about the Buckeyes fall practices and will give an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the Ohio State football program heading into the season opener against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Labor Day.
“Scarlet and Gray Days” will have a three- or four-episode run, giving a documentary style look at the fall camp of the defending champs. Each episode will run on Wednesday nights and be a half hour long.
With a fall camp that includes a must-see quarterback competition, a team dealing with player suspensions, and plenty of talent, we’ll see if Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and the rest of the Buckeyes can put on an entertaining show.
Ohio State will have no shortage of storylines, and judging by the synopsis on its website, the Big Ten Network looks to be taking full advantage:
Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer will also have to decide on a quarterback to pair with running back and Heisman candidate Ezekiel Elliott. Meyer will choose between sophomore J.T. Barrett, who went 11-1 as a redshirt freshman starter, and junior Cardale Jones, who is 3-0 as a starter with wins in the Big Ten Championship, the Sugar Bowl and the National Championship Game. The Buckeyes also welcome back two-time Big Ten Player of the Year Braxton Miller, who returns after a season-ending shoulder injury, 2014 Lombardi Award finalist Joey Bosa and 16 others who were named to preseason watch lists – most in the Big Ten.
