August 12, 2015Tristan Thompson may be at an impasse with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but their frontcourt will soon have another healthy body as Ramona Shelburne of ESPN has reported that Cavs forward Kevin Love will be back on the court in 7-to-10 days.
Recovering from a left shoulder injury sustained in the opening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, an injury from which it was expected to take four-to-six months to recover, Love appears to be making solid progress. Wednesday would mark roughly three-and-a-half months from his post-incident surgery.
Following his first season with the Cavaliers, a season where the 26-year old averaged 16.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, Love opted out of his final contract year with Cleveland, but decided to re-sign with the team for five seasons on the same day free agency began.
The power forward had this interview with Shelburne at Team USA camp, in Las Vegas, which he is attending in advance of the 2016 Olympic games. Love helped the USA win a gold medal in the 2012. Expected to be ready for camp, Love appears to be on track in his recovery and rehab treatment. If he is in fact back on the court in seven-to-ten days, he will have a little over a month to get back and work on his game, along with getting in shape for the start of camp. As if he wasn’t already.
