Ball Played: Broken Bats, Bloopers, Bunts, and Brantley; Indians outlast Yanks in 16
August 12, 2015The Browns should not pursue Ray Rice
August 12, 2015Leave your charcoal and your booze at home, Browns fans. It happens every year around this time: the City of Cleveland, always the optimist, releases an ambitious list of rules for tailgating in the Municipal Parking Lot for Browns home games. Let’s take a look at this year’s rules, shall we?
1. No open fire pits
2. Propane grills only (no charcoal)
3. No alcohol
4. Saving spaces is prohibited
5. You will be charged for all parking spaces that you occupy
6. No in-and-out privileges
7. All litter must be dispensed in trash containers
8. Vandalism of any type will not be tolerated
9. Crossing the Shoreway is prohibited
10. No private latrines
To expand on Rule No. 3, the City reiterates that open containers, consumption of alcohol, and public intoxication are all prohibited and, despite the hopeful rumors that circulate every year, the Muni Lot will still not open on Sundays until 7 a.m. (Sorry to everyone who was dreaming of overnight parking and, probably, all-night partying.) But, if you’re planning on getting after it this Thursday for the Browns’ first preseason game against the Washington Redskins, the eastern portion of the lot will open at noon.
The City also promises 50 portable restrooms, 75 trash cans, and three dumpsters to help keep the Muni Lot clean, which sounds like a lot, until you realize it is the exact same number they offered last year.
Violation of any of these rules can get you a hefty fine or — even worse — ejected from the Lot. But anyone who’s ever walked (or stumbled) through the Muni on a Sunday morning in the fall knows that these rules can often be… shall we say, loosely enforced? Here’s to hoping they stick to that “No private latrines” rule, though, because… ew.

Science: Fluid in = Fluid out
So will the Browns stop putting up pictures of people drinking alcohol in the Muni Lot during games? Or they don’t mind…?
