John Calipari doesn’t regret rejecting Cavaliers
June 3, 2015A brief Akron history lesson before the NBA Finals
June 3, 2015After a slow start to the season, the Cleveland Indians have won seven out of their last ten games, including four out of their last five. The Tribe enters June with a chance to cut their division deficit right away, with a three-game set against the Kansas City Royals starting Tuesday, June 2.
Cleveland trails the Royals by six games and the division-leading Minnesota Twins by 6.5 games. The team has received better pitching on the whole, but more specifically from their ace Corey Kluber. After losing four of his first six decisions (two no-decisions, no wins), Kluber has won three out of his past four, with one no-decision in between. Kluber’s last loss was on May 7 to the Royals. He’s given up five runs in his past four starts combined and has gone at least seven innings in each, while racking up a ton of strikeouts.
With both the bats and pitching staff coming around, there’s no better time to catch an Indians game at home or on the road. Below are the most and least expensive Cleveland tickets on the secondary market for the month of June, according to RazorGator.com.
Most Expensive: 6/15/2015 | Chicago Cubs vs. Cleveland Indians | Wrigley Field | Average Price: $85.12 | Get-in Price: $11| Wrigley Field Parking: $10
6/16/2015 | Chicago Cubs vs. Cleveland Indians | Wrigley Field | Average Price: $81.69 | Get-in Price: $12
An Interleague series takes the top spot for the Indians for the most expensive tickets of the month. There is excitement building in Chicago as the Cubs have called up a number of impressive prospects that are translating well thus far at the Major League level. Five games over .500, the Cubs will look to improve on their 15-11 (as of 6/2) record at home. Although these are the most expensive Indians tickets, they are some of the cheapest Cubs tickets for the month.
6/12-14/2015 | Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Indians | Comerica Park | Average Price: $78.19
It may be best for the Indians that they’re playing important division games on the road. Cleveland has a 14-12 record on the road while only being 10-14 for games played at Progressive Field. The Indians are three games behind the Tigers for third place in the division but if they want to pass the reigning division champs, they’ll have to improve their efforts against Detroit. Last season, the Indians were 8-11 against the Tigers, the only team in the division they had a losing record against.
Least Expensive: 6/9/2015 | Cleveland Indians vs. Seattle Mariners | Progressive Field | Average Price: $27 | Get-in Price: $5
The Mariners have not met their preseason expectations thus far, currently sitting in fourth place in the American League West division at 24-27. The Indians will have to face “The King” Felix Hernandez during this series barring unforeseen changes, and he’s been having another Cy Young-caliber season for Seattle. In fact, he’s 8-2 with a 2.63 ERA and 0.98 WHIP, although he did get roughed up a bit in his last outing versus the Yankees. Cleveland will certainly hope for the same success, and if they can get to the former Cy Young winner, they have an excellent shot of taking this series.
