Johnny be good? Manziel released from rehab
April 11, 2015Boston Zzz Party: LeBron, Love, Kyrie, J.R. to sit out vs. Celtics
April 12, 2015There’s so much smoke billowing out of this mesh-filled event that the Cleveland Browns’ new orange is starting to get a grey tint to it.
Roughly one week after jerseys allegedly shipped to a Dick’s Sporting Goods store surfaced online, and were immediately shunned as either being fake, bogus, or some other term that those in denial use, we have the image above which reportedly comes from a store in Columbus, Ohio.
The team is set to unveil their new Nike uniforms on Tuesday evening with season-ticket holders being able to purchase them on site. What was not apparently accounted for was the shipping and warehouse embargo that would allow for those not a part of the team’s front office to get their eyes—and cell phones—on them.
What was assumed to be the “alternate” jersey is starting to look more and more like the team’s primary selection. At the very least, it’s the one that will be leading the marketing campaign of the new uniforms. There has been no official word from the team on this, but for good reason—they’d be forced to either spoil the unveiling or outright lie. That’s a lose-lose situation, right there. Makes sense that it’d take place on a Sunday.
So these uniforms keep popping up. Different pics from different places, same unis. #Leaked smh pic.twitter.com/G3NTp8430P

After two years of planning and design, all under double top secret lockdown, Nike inadvertently sent new jerseys to retail outlets several days prior to the grand intro? Yeah, that makes sense…

someone keeps getting the images pulled. Smoke = fire. Or BBQ
Now I see that the jerseys were actually pulled post posting.
How can one organization just keep…?
over and over and over…?
sigh…
They look like a Wal-Mart discount rack knock-off in the picture from the store. But they look significantly better in the pics of the different sets like the one included here from Twitter. Might not rush out to buy one (and if I did, I’m partial to the brown), but I wouldn’t hate these.
Assuming that these are it, of course.
This is what this organization does or is surrounded by no matter what the story it just doesn’t matter. The good news is if that Tweet is correct or even close to being correct I kind of like the uniforms especially the Brown jersey/orange pants combo.
Haven’t seen the supposed “added color: grey” in any of these
Well, I’m just relieved they didn’t do something stupid with the font. Nothing gets dated more quickly than an overly stylized font.
Yes, if they are bringing back the orange pants with the brown jersey, then I am happy.
The jerseys themselves are somewhat updated but overall keep the historic ties, so I’m good with them. The striping is somewhat strange, but these also could be the cheaper version as some have mentioned.
If these images are close to real deal it will be one of the rare times this organization has surpassed my expectations in the last 15 years. Usually my expectations are floating in the commode so lets just say I’m not fearing tomorrow as much as I once did.
Those uniforms, if legit, are a deeper shade of meh.
The secrecy and the drama and the leaks and the expectancy and the big unveiling ceremony and the dragging-out of the whole process are just stupid. This organization is run by rank amateurs.
Nine seems to be the magic number:

At least the “new logo” and “re-designed” uniforms are consistent with Browns tradition. Lots of talk of “new directions” and “reboots” and “fresh starts” that end up looking a lot like the same old.
