The Approach
January 29, 2015You only get one first Cavaliers game
January 29, 2015If you missed Wednesday night’s Cavaliers game, I’m not sure why you would admit it. However, even for those who did watch Kyrie Irving take down the Portland Trailblazers with an NBA-best 55-point outing, putting all of (or most of) his shots in one compilation makes you realize just how incredible this night was. From the three-pointers off of a screen or taking Blazers big man LaMarcus Aldridge off the dribble with a kiss off the glass, the reigning All-Star MVP was simply fantastic.
Irving made a franchise-record 11 3-pointers, breaking the record of 10 previously set by C.J. Miles last season. He joins former Detroit Piston guard Joe Dumars as the only players in NBA history with at least 10 3-pointers and 10 free throws in a game. It was a perfectly executed, much-needed night as the Blazers would not go away quietly. It was just the Cavaliers’ second win in 10 games this season without James.
“It means a lot,” Irving said following the game. “For me, it’s just about the intensity of the game and being out there with my gracious teammates and them doing a great job of getting me open and setting great screens. I’m just happy to get the win. That’s the only thing that really matters. We continue our streak.
“I’m just thankful that the fans were here and my teammates were here and we got the win. That’s it, simply put.”
On the season, Irving is averaging 22.1 points, 5.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting a career best 41.3 percent from 3-point territory. For more on the game-winner, you’ll want to go here.
Just watched live one of if not the one greatest performances by a person and he happen to be my teammate/runningmate/brother @KyrieIrving!!

Loved listening to Isiah Thomas talk about KI on NBATV.
ticked this wasn’t nationally televised. My mom and I were texting the majority of the game, both “watching” from free apps. Ah the miseries of a (poor) transplanted fan.
