Explaining My Ohio Statehood
January 13, 2015WFNY’s 2014 Cleveland Browns Position Review: Cornerbacks
January 13, 2015Last week, we showed you the first looks at the Black History Month releases of the LeBron 12 and Kyrie 1. As we draw closer to the January 19 release of Cleveland Cavaliers’ point guard’s first “BHM” run, we have a few additional high-resolution looks at the shoe thanks to Sneaker Politics.
Check out the black, metallic silver and white colorway below. The Kyrie 1 comes equipped with a white Hyperfuse upper which shrouds a black base and a white “two finger” detailing, unique laces, and digital imagery on the heel. Irving’s “KI” logo pops on the tongue and “BHM” replaces the spot where “#2” can be found on the back of the upper.
The Kyrie 1 will retail for $130 and can be purchased at Nike.com in addition to the apparel company’s partners. A portion of proceeds from the sale of the 2015 BHM Collection go to the Ever Higher Fund, which supports organizations that leverage the power of sport to maximize the potential of underserved youth. The fund’s mission is to assist communities with knowledge, resources and tools for the next generation of leaders.

Most of the time (no offense, Scott) the shoes highlighted on here are just…not my style. But these? Yoooooooo. I’m in.
On a somewhat related note, does anyone know if there will be a further run of the Ohio State NCG jerseys? Sold out on Nike’s site, but I’m hoping they bring them back, given the outcome of the game. Best non-traditional look we’ve had with Nike, IMO.
I do not know for certain, but I would be surprised if they didn’t produce another run.
And yeah—trust me. Sneakers these days, especially performance versions, aren’t always the most aesthetically pleasing. LOVE these though.
So… what exactly makes these black history-related? Seems like a cash grab by Nike.
