Browns sign tight end, add receiver Marlon Moore to active roster
September 9, 2014Ranking NBA courts and a star spangled nightmare …While We’re Waiting
September 10, 2014There’s good news and bad news. The bad news is Ian Rapoport is hearing that Ben Tate will miss between two and four weeks with his knee strain. The good news is that his knee strain is just that. Not a tear or anything that will require surgery.
What is the timeline for injured #Browns RB Ben Tate? I’m told likely out 2-4 weeks, depending on how he heals. You’ll see West & Crowell

#Browns starting RB Ben Tate will likely miss a few weeks with a knee sprain, source says. At this point, no surgery required.

And the best news for Browns fans regarding any injury is that the next men up appear to be ready. Maybe it’s the Shanahan zone blocking scheme, but based on the results we saw against Pittsburgh, the Browns will be able to hold their running game together while Ben Tate misses time.
Terrance West went for 100 yards on 16 carries and Isaiah Crowell went for 32 yards on five carries. Crowell also went for two touchdowns and there’s no telling just how many yards Crowell could have gone for if that pesky end zone hadn’t gotten in his way. He had a TD run of three yards to go along with his 15-yard touchdown.
The Browns have the Saints at home this weekend and their defense gave up 448 yards in the air and another 123 on the ground to the Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons’ running game is pitiful… it wouldn’t be crazy to imagine another game of 175+ yards on the ground for the Browns if the Saints defense hasn’t tightened up by Sunday. Hopefully that home crowd will give the Brows a surge of adrenaline. The best way for the Browns to win on Sunday is to control the clock and keep the Saints offense off of the field.
Run run and run some more YES!!!
For as much flack as Ray Ray receives for not drafting a WR he must receive equal credit for the depth at RB. With West and Crowell the Browns can afford to have Tate miss games. That’s something I didn’t think would be possible after just one game.
Sadly Tate is one of those fragile athletes who just cannot stay healthy. Real shame because I thought he’d be a beast behind this O-Line.
And it’s costing Tate $47K/game. Smart contract for the Browns.
I mean, they could legitimately cut him before the end of the season.
