August 18, 2014The money sign isn’t the only hand signal Johnny Football knows.
Yep. That’s Manziel giving the finger to the Washington bench.
Rather have it in Vine form? Ok.
Gif from BroBible. Vine from sp0rts.

Update: From former WFNYer Brendan Porath, Rob McBurnett from the Browns communications team telling Manziel that his finger gesture was captured and flying all over the Internet.

what an idiot. #TeamHoyer
Marcus Hall’s finger to the Michigan fans was classic. Flipping off an opposing bench when you’re losing a preseason game? Pathetic.
Stay classy Johnny Clipboard.
Punk.
He should have used both middle fingers ‘cuz he played like #2!
That Vine grab is excellent. At least he knew he’d screwed up, owned it in the press conference…? Sigh. What a crappy, crappy night by any QB not named Connor Shaw.
Well, you know every time they tackled him they were yelling “stuff” in his face. Kids will be kids.
This is weak. If you’re going to give somebody the finger, you get in their face and let him have it. Flipping it backwards as you’re running away is lame.
But then, everything about Johnny Mania is lame. Every time he repents and says that he “gets it” now, he turns around and does another stupid thing to show that he doesn’t “get” anything. His act has gotten really old.
Let’s be concerned about the real issue here – what is the deal with the crappy writs tattoo?
A bad decision on draft day just keeps looking worse. The Johhny Football hype machine means a kid clearly not ready for this level gets undeserved support, while Hoyer’s confidence appears thoroughly shaken by having the myth of Manziel looking over his shoulder. Granted, you’d like Hoyer to be made of sterner stuff, but bringing in the most hyped of the QB prospects in the draft seems to have done him no favors.
I’m going to deviate from the crowd, take a different stance, swim upstream, look at this from another angle:
I like it. Sure, sure, I don’t necessarily want my QB giving the finger to the other team (unless that team is Michigan, and maybe Pittsburgh, yeah, definitely Pittsburgh, too), but I do want Johnny to start getting competitive. This guy needs to be in a fight. It’s what makes him thrive. As long as he’s trapped in his own head, trying to figure out the game, he’s not going to be what he can be, and he’s going to stink. He needs to gain some confidence, get in peoples’ faces, get those competitive juices flowing – which will gain him more confidence. That’s what makes Johnny Manziel “Johnny Football,” and I think that we – to include his coaching staff – need to get used to that. Are there better ways? Sure, but let the kid be who he is and stop trying to force him into a mold that he doesn’t fit. If that means an occassional “eff you,” so be it. “The children” will survive.
Oh, and the Browns PR guy telling him that in the MIDDLE OF A GAME that he’s still competing in MAY NOT be the best technique. Timing . . . is . . . everything.
This morning Redskins’ Ryan Clark said flip-off was in response to their bench yelling that this wasn’t college, he isn’t the fastest on the field anymore. But I’m sure they were giving it to him the whole game. What happens when the media puts you in the spotlight before you’ve done a thing to deserve it.
Rex looked happy and well-fed.
Last thought: What’s worse for “the Shield”? Johnny Manziel giving the Redsk. . . er, Washington Football Team, the finger, or the referees calling a penalty if a defensive back TOUCHES a WR? I’d rather see Johnny Manziel break every huddle with the double guns than watch that officiating crap ever again. The NFL style of football sucks.
GO CAVS!
I agree so much with this. This really is not fair to Hoyer and it is not fun to watch.
if you are going to give someone the finger, then it better be in a rivalry game, and you better own your moment

does that make it a “hand tramp stamp” ?
I agree with what you’re saying here, but one can’t blame the media for Johnny Football. That’s all Manziel. I can’t think of one Great Quarterback in the history of the NFL who would have started his career by flipping off the opponent. I don’t want John McEnroe for a quarterback. I want someone who won’t let trash talk ruin his game.
