August 15, 2014Nike, ever the branding experts, is embarking on a national initiative that includes eight of the biggest college football programs in the country and releasing a shoe based on Week Zero. Releasing the day before the season begins, each school will have a Nike Lunar TR1 colored up in complimentary university colors complete with school logos.
To no surprise whatsoever, the Ohio State Buckeyes are one of the eight schools to get the star treatment, complete with Buckeye leaves on the heel and a Block O on the tongue.
Coming equipped with a Flywire upper and Lunarlon soles, these Scarlet and Grey cross trainers will be available on Wednesday August 27 at 8 a.m. for $120 at Nike.com.

Despite my hatred for OSU, I can at least admit these are pretty sweet. A few notes looking at the rest of the collection:
-Only OSU and Texas got cool images on the heels, all the rest are boring or unrelated to the school. They really couldn’t have put dog bones on UGA?
-Very limited color selection overall – a lot of white/gray and red, then some green and black, and then Texas and FSU break out every so slightly.
-Speaking of colors, no highlighter yellow for Oregon??
Yes, please
