August 5, 2014With the Browns first preseason game coming up on Saturday, the team released their first depth chart. This is only the first one and so a lot can change before the Browns start the regular season. Here are a couple highlights of the Browns depth chart:
-Brian Hoyer is the first quarterback listed with Johnny Manziel as the second string quarterback
-Josh Gordon and Miles Austin are listed as the starting wide receivers with Andrew Hawkins and Nate Burleson next in line
-Joel Bitonio is the starting left guard, while John Greco is the starting right guard
-Billy Winn is listed as the starting right defensive end with Desmond Bryant as the starting left defensive end ahead of Phil Taylor
-Craig Robertson is ahead of Chris Kirksey as the starting “Will” linebacker
-Barkevious Mingo is listed as a starting outside linebacker with Paul Kruger with Jabaal Sheard right behind
-Buster Skrine is marked as the second starting cornerback with Justin Gilbert behind him
A lot will change from now to September 7th when the Browns kick off against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This depth chart is interesting to see how the team views players in terms of what position they may play. Take a look at Mike Pettine’s full depth chart below.
