Sumlin brushes off Manziel questions at Texas A&M media day
July 15, 2014Mike Miller to sign with Cavaliers per Chris Broussard
July 15, 2014Jon Krawczynskiof the Associated Press reports that the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors have restarted trade talks concerning Kevin Love.
“Timberwolves president and coach Flip Saunders was seen talking to Warriors GM Bob Myers at the arena on Sunday as the two sides look to bridge the gaps that caused discussions to stall. The Warriors have been reluctant to include shooting guard Klay Thompson in any package, which has been considered a deal-breaker for the Timberwolves.
It remained unclear if the Warriors have changed their position on Thompson in the new talks.
The Timberwolves also have been talking to the Cavaliers, who so far have been unwilling to include Andrew Wiggins in any offer.”
There were reports that a third team (like Golden State) would be necessary to facilitate any deal not involving Andrew Wiggins, but it seems unlikely that the Warriors are talking with the Wolves about not getting Love.
Could Minnesota be trying to put a little pressure on the Cavaliers to soften their stance on including Wiggins? Certainly.

I dunno…the more I think about it the more I want to keep Wiggins. More than anything, hamstringing the team’s flexibility with a “big 3” of our own gives me pause. obviously there’s a strong case to be made both ways, but thats where I’m at right now. Lots of times things that look indomitable on paper don’t live up to the billing. Again, it bears repeating that I know nothing
cant believe these guys haven’t heard of Yelp or Urbanspoon
it did say that Flip Saunders was involved. he likely uses his phone to gasp make phone calls.
the more i think about it the more I agree with @WFNYScott its a no lose situation
I’m maybe flipping again, from my Keep Wiggins stance of just this morning. Someone made what I consider a most compelling argument: you don’t turn down a top-10 player in the league because you think your guy might be a top 10 player in the league. And Love is one of the league’s top players, for sure. How many opponent-demoralizing layups will LeBron and Kyrie score on those outlet passes.
If they pull the trigger I’ll ease my nausea at losing Wiggins by looking at it this way: the big smile on Griffin’s face the night we won the lottery was because he just scored Kevin Freakin Love. Ok, I’m gonna go curl in the fetal position again now.
the nerve! I bet he actually pays attention to the road when he drives his car
yeah I can talk myself in circles for days. I’d be a miserable failure as a GM.
PS- Woj just tweeted Cavs signing Miller
The only flexibility on the roster after paying Irving and Lebron the max is the right to renounce everyone else’s expiring contract after this season. Past there, there is none.
I get the idea that someone prefers the potential of Wiggins or is afraid that Love can skip town next summer, but the flexibility things confuses me.
Dear Timberpuppies,
we all know that Love isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon for your price. See you at the trade deadline.
Sincerely,
Everybody (Seriously, EVERYBODY)
Naw, he’s got one hand on a fast food sandwich and the other changing the radio station.
