Bourn to DL, Tyler Holt called up
July 6, 2014LeBron rumors and what’s next for the Cavs… While We’re Waiting
July 7, 2014I don’t even know quite how to say all this because it’s so weird, strange, fun and (sports) scary. The LeBron James to Cleveland rumor mill absolutely exploded on Twitter today.
Let me take you through it all.
Joe Lull started it off saying Dan Gilbert was heading to Florida.
Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert is currently en route to south Florida.
— Joe Lull (@LullOnSports) July 6, 2014
Dan Gilbert refuted that saying he was in his back yard.
“. @LullOnSports:Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is currently en route to south Florida.” I am? Sorry folks but enjoying weather in my backyard today
— Dan Gilbert (@cavsdan) July 6, 2014
People started tracking a Dan Gilbert private aircraft that in fact did make it to Florida. With pictures!

Anthony Lima reported (and others confirmed) that Zydrunas Ilgauskas was on that plane.
Been working on this for two hours but can now confirm from second source that LBJ's friend and former Cav Zydrunas Ilgauskas was on plane
— Anthony Lima (@SportsBoyTony) July 7, 2014
Tom Withers said that the plane didn’t land at the airport it was supposed to land at and that some limos were at an airport with no plane.
Gilbert's plane did not go to the airport listed on flight tracker. Limos were waiting for a plane that never arrived. #cavs

Sam Amico started dropping big tweets.
Planes, trains, taxis … It doesn't really matter. But I will say this: I get the impression it's showtime for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
— Sam Amico (@AmicoHoops) July 7, 2014
Not sure about others, but Cavs have not been informed of any decision by LeBron. I have a feeling tomorrow, or sooner, they will know.
— Sam Amico (@AmicoHoops) July 7, 2014
Told idea of Dan Gilbert's plane heading to South Florida is something that came together quickly.

Finally, everyone’s “favorite” insider at ESPN, Chris Broussard, adjusted his LeBron James leaderboard.
Cleveland has replaced Miami as my frontrunner to land LeBron James…
— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) July 7, 2014
Oh, and in a non-Cavs bit of news, another Johnny Manziel picture showed up.

It was either the most fun day on Twitter or the worst depending on your perspective. I made the decision to just enjoy it regardless and we’ll see how it plays out. If you missed the day on Twitter, that ought to catch you up.

He isn’t rolling blunts, he’s blowing lines. They gwt out of your system faster.
Wow Broussard a little late, shocking I know.
Beware fake twitter accounts trolling on James coming back. already got fooled by a fake amico retweet.
holy crap between manziel and LeBron, it’s becoming unbearable to be a Cleveland sports fan lately. we need to get over LeBron, and make Johnny and Josh Gordon accountibili-buddies to keep each other in check.
Aside from snorting lines, why else would someone roll up a dollar bill?
It’s genuinely exciting to see my preferred NBA team in the running for the top FA in the league. LeBron James is pretty clearly the best player in the league and, assuming he stays healthy, should be for a while going forward. But watching all of these folks getting so worked up over speculation and wishful thinking–especially with this player and our past with him–is frustrating. Yes, it would be great to add him to the mix and see what happens (the number of folks assuming a title or two is also a bit bizarre right now). But until there is a formal announcement with LBJ and Dan Gilbert confirming the signing personally, I will continue to assume that James will be somewhere other than Cleveland for the 2014-2015 season. No reason to position ourselves to be let down again by the same person.
And as for John F. Pigskin? You’re more likely to get the benefit of the doubt if you didn’t insist on living the party life at every opportunity. Instead, people are going to take an ambiguous picture and jump to the more unsavory conclusions, and the kid only has himself to blame for that.
and if you didn’t even mention the OSU recruit busted in a 50 person fight at the Grown and Sexy Lounge in south lorain.
Can’t a guy roll a money stylus for his money phone without getting accused of misdeeds?
