NBA Draft Trade Rumors: Sixers up the ante to try and get first pick

Wiggins 22

The Philadelphia 76ers want to draft Andrew Wiggins.

Previously, the report was that the Sixers were offering Cleveland the number 3 pick in the draft and forward Thaddeus Young in exchange for the first overall pick.

On Thursday, Chad Ford and CSNPhilly.com reported that Philadelphia has increased the offer to the Cavaliers, though it is not reported exactly what the new offer is.

The Sixers also own the tenth pick in the draft, and it isn’t a stretch to assume that is the addition to the offer.

So would the third and tenth picks plus Young be enough to entice you to make that trade if you are Griffin?

I would still have to pass, and it appears the Cavaliers have as well. Of course, it is still several hours until the draft begins…

I’ll take it and take Embiid at 3 and hope for maybe Gordon to fall to 10…but ask me again in an hour.

No no no. No overthinking. Maybe last chance to draft clear great for eons. Don’t toss away your winning lottery ticket for another lottery ticket, a center injured in just the place you never want your center to be injured. This would be a GM with a gambling problem, or just more Chris Grant-ish asset accumulation.

    Cash ’em in time.

No, don’t get cute. Take the potential All Star and run. Give me Wiggins.

Take it! Embiid at 3, Anderson at 10. Package Thompson/Waiters or Young/Waiters somewhere for some shooting. Perfect for a Blatt coached team.

Do the deal!! I firmly believe that the Cavs stay a lottery team for the next 2 to 3 seasons if they are banking on the development of another teenager…

I feel like it’s a Wiggins pick, and then trade to PHI for 3, 10, 32. If Milwaukee picks Exum or anyone besides Parker, then trade down again to 5 and pick up Burke, 23, Favors from Utah.

I would like that, a lot

Pass. The team needs quality not quantity. You take the best player available at 1. Only way you do this is if you have another deal in place for the #3 or #10 to get an established All-Star. That way you get a veteran piece plus a talented youngster to groom.

if we like Embiid and those medical reports we leaked have withheld information on our side that makes it not as bad, then okay.

but, I don’t want T.Young. Too expensive and another tweener F.

#1 & Jack (that’s right, take him off our hands Philly)
    #3, #10, Hollis Thompson, James Anderson, #32

And, the deals don’t stop there. If we cannot attract allstar FA, then we need to collect assets and deal for them plus those 2 guys are very good shooters that will fit into Blatt’s system.

  • This is very simple, Cavs. Just hang up the phone.

    Dammit, Cavs…

    Dude….5 second rule. Start scooping!!!!

    Those look like puffy Cheetos.
Let the dog clean them up.

  • mgbode

first, puffy Cheetos are still delicious.

second, you don’t want to have to clean up puffy Cheetos later, so keep the dog away from them.

If Philly wants Wiggins that much, why would we pass?
