June 6, 2014With their second pick of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, the Cleveland Indians added pitcher Justus Sheffield with the 31st-overall selection.
The 5-foot-10-inch southpaw from Tullahoma (TN) High School was taken with the pick the Indians received from Ubaldo Jimenez signing with the Baltimore Orioles. Sheffield went 10-0 with a 0.34 ERA and 131 strikeouts this past season. He gave up only 3 earned runs in 61.2 innings. He was the first high school athlete from the state of Tennessee to win a Gatorade National Player of the Year Award.
Sheffield is a 2014 Perfect Game USA First Team All-American and returning First Team All-State selection by the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association. He is committed to Vanderbilt University.

Hopefully, we did our homework about signing this guy. Vandy is a heck of a pitcher development school.
According to Keith Law he is already signed.
