In honor of his Houston Appreciation Weekend, hip-hop star Drake performed at Warehouse Live on Friday night. Despite tickets not being sold to the public, Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was in attendance where he apparently signed a Browns jersey with his No. 2 and TOPSZN across the nameplate.
Manziel and Drake are close friends; the rapper has name-dropped the college star in one of his songs while Manziel used one of Drake’s releases as his introductory song during the NFL Draft. Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, spent some time with Manziel this past summer in an attempt to impart some wisdom on how to deal with the publicity both negative and positive.
“To go from zero to 100 right away, the spotlight’s on, brighter than ever, I think that he’s just kinda going through the motions and of course there is accountability in some situations,” Drake said last summer. “I encourage him to have stronger discipline than anybody else. I tell him, in this position that we’re in, it takes major sacrifice.”
Topszn (pronounced ‘top season’) has long been represented by Manziel who frequently does the related finger-rubbing hand gesture that has taken Cleveland over like wildfire.
