Indians remove John Axford from closer role

May 11, 2014DraftBrowns.com is doing the heavy lifting on tracking down the undrafted free agents that are signing with the Browns. The team has not confirmed any of these signings, and likely won’t until they have finished signing all of them.
The list of players is highlighted by South Carolina quarterback Conner Shaw. Shaw was a three year starter for the Gamecocks and is the winning-est quarterback school history with a 27-5 record. He won all 17 starts at home. Shaw is an athletic quarterback, but like Manziel lacks ideal size. He has nice touch on his passes, but may not have the desired arm strength.
Also signed were wide receivers Chandler Jones from San Jose State and Kenny Shaw from the National Champion Seminoles. Kenny Shaw caught 54 passes for 933 yards and six touchdowns for Florida State this season. Jones is another undersized (5’9″) speedy wide out.
There are 17 players listed at DraftBrowns.com. Rather than swipe their excellent work by putting that complete list, please reward their effort with a click through.

So best/worst case scenario is that the weather might affect between 0 and 4 games depending on whether our schedule is backloaded with home games and whether these mild winters continue or not.
I understand the arguments. And in a vacuum, I really like the Bitonio pick. (I agree that Kirksey is probably the most questionable.)
But the fact that we have to ask questions and rationalize AGAIN is infuriating.
I really REALLY wanted Robinson…so some of this is sour grapes.
I don’t think Little is our best WR right now. Regardless, a QB with a good run game can mask the WRs and we might still be searching for a trade or picking someone else up.
I agree that it is absolutely right to ask the questions and WR is without a doubt our weakest spot, but I don’t think that changes with Brian Robiskie added or Allen Robinson if that is the name he goes by now 😉
sorry, couldn’t help it. I see alot of Robiskie in him.
Haha – that’s entirely fair!
Once they decided to forego Watkins, pick #35 was the only real place to get a WR. They decided to get Bitonio instead. It’s not what I would have done, but I think it’s probably just as good (as mgbode said). I’m sure they were hoping to pick up a WR with their next pick, but by then the run on WRs had already occurred and they weren’t going to reach on a guy that wasn’t worth it. I think that’s better than an excuse. It’s a good decision!
I think Abbrederis may have made us better. I really like him, and was hoping that we’d take a chance. I was disappointed when they drafted West instead, but now that I’ve seen some film, I have no problem with it at all. West could be huge for us. I still think I’d take Abbrederis over Desir, but I trust Farmer and Co.
I THINK MIKE BROWN JUST GOT FIRED FOR A SECOND TIME – 3:45 PM ET!!!
I think Mike Brown just got fired for a second time for the Cavaliers – Griffin named GM!
