NBA Rumors: Dan Gilbert, Cavs interested in John Calipari as next head coach
May 15, 2014MLB News: Indians promote Jesus Aguilar from Columbus
May 15, 2014Cleveland fans, meet your newest wide receiver. Looking to address the situation left in the wake of a potential Josh Gordon suspension, the Browns have signed veteran wide receiver Miles Austin.
Miles, 29, has been highly injury-prone and relatively ineffective ever since his 2009 breakout where he caught 81 passes for 1,320 yards and 11 touchdowns. As recent as 2012, the 6-foot-2-inch, 215-pounder hauled in 66 passes for 943 yards and six touchdowns. Hampered by hamstring issues, Austin was released by the Dallas Cowboys in March, saving the team $5.5 million in cap space after playing in just 11 games in 2013.
A low-risk signing, Austin will join fellow veterans Nate Burleson and Andrew Hawkins as new additions to the receiving corps.
In addition, the Browns have also confirmed their signing of veteran receiver Earl Bennett and defensive lineman Elhadji Ndiaye (pronounced ee-LODGE-uh JIE). They were linked to former Chicago Bears receiver on Wednesday evening. Ndiaye joins the 11 other undrafted free agents who were signed earlier this week.

Cool.
I wonder how is health is right now. If he’s ready to participate in camp, and we didn’t overpay him, he should be a great addition to the current “throw 13 wide receivers at the wall and see what 4 stick” game we have going.
Tape them hammies up tight
I’m most high on Charles Johnson. My sleeper for this season.
Can we get this Charles as well?

If we’re thinking optimistically, those hammies should be pretty well rested by now.
Browns are going to be cutting a lot of guys who fans think have upside, it seems. (It’s nice to finally have a roster with talent to cut!)
Looking at the Browns’ current roster, it’s really hard to figure out who the 53 might be.
We are throwing a lot of crap against the wall hoping something sticks.
Thanks Josh…
If the hammies do manage to hold up, Miles Austin is a lot of fun to watch. Big damn “if” though.
And if we could get Charles Manson then that would really be killer.
i like it…should be pretty low risk – i have confidence we didn’t overpay
Charles Rogers – now there is a player with some issues:

That’s a lot of receivers. The WR lines at training camp are going to look like those at a youth football camp. Reps at a premium!
But, I mean, he had 68 catches and 13 touchdowns!
Hey, it’s been working for the Indians…
I asked you about this guy last time you mentioned and you didn’t respond. Enough said.
Charles Johnson baby!

When/where? Comment section? Was not intentional if so.
Tate, pressley, burleson, austin – farmer is not afraid of taking chances on players with injury histories. We can be the “if healthy” team
Low risk deals, but much potential for high reward. Plus, there’s no real price tag on having a veteran presence (I know the Indians having Giambi is totally extreme here, but the point is made.)
The NFL version of the Tribe?
Uh oh….
