The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports late Saturday night that the Cleveland Cavaliers are close to naming acting GM David Griffin to the permanent replacement.
Griffin took over duties when the Cavaliers let go of Chris Grant mid-season. Whatever the reason, the team responded to the firing of Grant and performed better after his release. Griffin also made a move before the trade deadline to acquire center Spencer Hawes who averaged 13.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1 block per game with the Cavs.
According to the Plain Dealer report on Cleveland.com, The Cavaliers interviewed several candidates but have decided on Griffin.
