Pettine, Farmer and Haslam set the right tone for Johnny Manziel
May 13, 2014PFT: Browns and Joe Haden agree to contract extension
May 13, 2014Teddy Bridgewater was on the Dan Patrick show Tuesday morning, and was asked if there was any chance the Cleveland Browns would be taking him.
“There was a chance, but I actually told my agent that’s not the place where I want to be.”
Bridgewater went on to talk about being comfortable with the fit in Minnesota and how he is happy that is where he was drafted.

you are dead to me Teddy.

Don’t think he meant anything by his comment. From a personnel standpoint, Manziel and Bridgewater ended up in their ideal scenarios. Manziel gets to work with Kyle Shanahan, mobile QB coach extraordinaire; Bridgewater gets to learn under Norv Turner, a master with pocket QBs. If you had the two rookies switch places, there chance of success would be much lower.
ya know Theodore, there’s also a real life Wonderlic. We all take them, every day. You just scored a 4.
Lowest Wonderlic among the top dozen QB prospects listed by McGinn.
hah! jinx.
Me too!
Bridgewater doesn’t want to go to Cleveland.

Jimmy denying that he changed the name from Bridgewater to Manziel 10 seconds before submitting the name to the NFL:

Coincidence?
Congratulations. This is what I call a “win win.”
Theodore would rather play for people with funny accents.
Articulating his point in this way would have helped…but he didn’t, which leaves his statement as an inelegant blanket rejection of the organization/town.
I’m sure you’re right, but what do we then do with all of our unassigned rage? We are rageaholics addicted to rageahol.

Well, Teddy Duncecap, we’re pleased that we were able to accommodate you.
What he forgot to add was “…because my arm isn’t strong enough to play there in the winter.”
With all due respect…
And, NO GLOVES NO LOVE!!!
maybe he didn’t hear that Minny is building an outdoor stadium?
The Wonderlic score is relevant here, as well.
Enjoy Minnesota in November, Mr. T-Rex Hands.

How dare he want to be somewhere other than Cleveland.
Why must I fail at every attempt at masonry?!!
Teddy continued, “I mean, I didn’t want Minnesota either, don’t get me wrong. I wanted to get picked first, go to Houston, and spend my time handing the ball to Arian Foster and throwing it to Andre Johnson. Despite my Wonderlic score, I’m not stupid.”
15 yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.
What kind of moron just “plows” into a huddle like that? What a jackass.
I know, right?

Hodor?
Thanks Teddy. A lot of people didn’t want you here either.
Blunderlic
I literally laughed out loud at this one. Well done, sir.
I agree with him — I didn’t want him here, either. If Troy Smith couldn’t make it in the NFL, how in the hell will Teddy Bridgewater?
Because they’re not really similar players? A good comp for Troy Smith is Ravens’ backup QB Tyrod Taylor.
The first time I saw Teddy, he reminded me of Troy in terms of size and arm, and actually their passing stats from their senior years are pretty comparable. I don’t know about how the two offenses compare, but Troy generally played against better competition. One thing’s for sure: Bridgewater fared a LOT better in his bowl game against Florida.
The big difference for me is that Smith was more of the dual-threat mold of QB (although he performed well passing the ball in a run-heavy offense) and Bridgewater is more of a drop-back passer who played in a pass-heavy offense. Their rushing attempt numbers are surprisingly similar throughout their college careers, but the results were much different. Bridgewater is not a good runner. The other difference I see is physically. Bridgewater is a good three inches taller and built thicker. That isn’t to say that I think Bridgewater’s career will be any more successful than Smith’s, but I do think there’s a valid reason that one was taken so much earlier in the draft than the other.
Massive up-vote for “rageahol” reference.
Ya sure youbetcha.
