Could it be? Is there an Indians phenom you’ve never heard of? Well, how familiar are you with left-handed relief pitcher Kyle Crockett? Get familiar.
Crockett is on a bit of a streak. According to Kyle Downing of Wahoo’s on First, Crockett hasn’t allowed a run this season, and has only given up one run period. “For those of you who aren’t aware of this astounding fact, Crockett has allowed only one earned run in his entire professional career. Between spring training and all levels of the minors, he has pitched 38.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run on a solo homer. During this time he has struck out a remarkable 45 hitters while walking only 6. These numbers include an invincible season so far at the AA level.”
Of course, since writing the piece, Crockett was touched up Tuesday night. He gave up a run. Recorded his fourth save. As Downing points out, how long will the Indians keep Carrasco in the majors, especially when guys at the lower levels are performing at a high level?

Bradley Beal is making the leap. I remember sitting with a good friend at BW3 in Lima, Ohio watching the NBA Draft unfold in 2012.
“Who do you want?” he asked me.
“Davis, Kidd-Gilchrist or Beal” I answered. “Most likely Beal.”
The Cavaliers picked fourth in what was considered a three player draft. Two years later, Beal and the Wizards won their first round series. MKG and the Bobcats made the playoffs. Harrison Barnes and the Warriors made the playoffs. Terrence Ross and the Raptors made the playoffs.

Ohio State is getting new turf. No word on if they are changing the field design at all. You would have to assume some minor change at least is underway.

I really wanted the Cavs to land Brad Beal in that draft, but I knew it was a longshot to think he could get past both the Bobcats and the Wizards. I am not sour on Dion Waiters, but it does seem like Beal would be a bit better fit with Kyrie.

I thought it was only the Browns who miss out on the ideal pick by one spot. We literally can’t win for losing.
i hope the bucks change up their end zone scheme. the helvetica OHIO STATE and BUCKEYES was weak sauce.

I only knew the Crockett name from the B-A prospect list. I couldn’t even remember what he was listed as but remembered he was on it (Best Control).

So a prospect performing well in AA leads to…bashing Carrasco. Sounds about right. But Carrasco’s FIP is… nobody cares. But it suggests that… hush. Well, can’t we just be happy that…. No, now grab this torch.

17 pro bowlers in 18 drafts? That’s like epically great. So many
accomplished personnel executives have maybe a decade of great work,
combined with some good fortune. Ozzie’s run of consistency goes on and
on, and is pretty impressive given how the league has morphed from
defense to offense during his run. Just wow. And it’s not like he’s
close to retirement age.
At least there is some contrast there. The all-red and all-blue fields make me ill trying to watch them.

Also, “how long will the Indians keep Carrasco in the majors”? A while, he’s out of options.
And regarding Crockett, let’s have some beer with our tacos. The scouting reports have pegged him for a LOOGY to a bit more. He’s not taking Carrasco’s spot. His spot will come at Outman’s expense.
I think I remember seeing them change the rules so that fields couldn’t be all red anymore.
