NBA Trade Rumors: Cavaliers looking to acquire Jordan Hill?

Late Wednesday afternoon ESPN’s Marc Stein dropped a twitter NBA rumor involving the Cavaliers.

According to Stein, the Cavs are looking to acquire PF Jordan Hill from the Lakers. Hill is 26 years old and averages 8.5 points and 7 rebounds per game this season. He makes $3.5 million dollar contract expires at the end of the season.

Apparently the Cavaliers, Nets, Mavericks and Suns have all inquired about trading for Hill.

The Cavaliers seemingly have a logjam at power forward, unless Anderson Varejao is (gulp) injured worse than the Cavaliers are saying (again).

I think this is a deal made because of another deal about to happen with one of the other power forwards, maybe Tristan Thompson gets dealt in a package for Harrison Barnes? It’s rumored

I have been a big fan of Jordan Hill since his Arizona days. He has had some back issues, which would be my only concern with him.

As for the log-jam at PF, Hill is actually best at C (at least part-time) despite his height/weight combo. Yeah, some of the bigger C’s will hurt him, but he is really gritty and will make them work for everything.

What would we give up for him?

I’d be ok with this… Hate to see TT go, but I really don’t think he is much more than a 12ppg 10rpg kind of guy…

Deng and 7 second round picks?

  • scripty

well that would get my attention.

Looks like Marcus Thornton to Nets for Jason Terry and Reggie Evans.

🙂 well, we have the picks. I’d actually want something a bit more useful for Deng as much as I like Jordan Hill.

I guess 2 2nd round picks is cheaper
